University of Texas at Austin Aquatic Center

UT Aquatic Center is a combination architectural

renovation and new construction project including

a natatorium, originally built in the 1930s, and dorms

adjacent to the site. Having begun as a student-

driven initiative for a recreational pool on campus, the

University included in the program three pools and a

cafeteria with outdoor service and lounge furniture.

SWA’s design for the outdoor area included two infinity-

edge pools, a lap pool, stone and brick paving, two

trellis structures and fountain elements for the pools.
