Umm Badoor made the best gaimat in the
whole wide world but she only made them
in Ramadan.
"Please, make some sesame gaimat," said
Abu Badoor.
“Yes, yes, yes,” said Umm Badoor.
“Insh’Allah, but I only make gaimat in
Ramadan.”
"Please make some cheese gaimat," said
her two sons.
“Yes, yes, yes,” said Umm Badoor.
“Insh’Allah, but I only make gaimat in
Ramadan.”
"Please, make some honey gaimat," said her three
daughters.

only make gaimat in Ramadan.
"Please, make some chocolate gaimat," said
her four grandchildren.
“Yes, yes, yes,” said Umm Badoor.
“Insh’Allah, but I only make gaimat in
Ramadan.”
One day Umm Badoor looked up at the sky.
“Alhamdulilah!” said Umm Badoor, “I can
see the Ramadan moon! Time to make my
Ramadan gaimat!”
Umm Badoor went to her kitchen and said,
“Bismillah!” Then she took out her bowls
and spoons.
Umm Badoor very carefully poured out
sesame seeds, cheese balls, honey syrup
and chocolate drops.
Then she began to mix the flour and oil,
the saffron and yogurt and then she
added her delicious secret ingredients.
She stirred the sweet, sticky syrup. Then
she added more of her delicious secret
ingredients.
Umm Badoor tasted the mixture and
nodded.
“Just right!” she said.
Umm Badoor mixed and stirred, fried and
dipped all night long.
She made lots and lots and lots of gaimat.
Soon it was time for sahoor. Everyone
woke up
“Ramadan Mubarak!” said Umm Badoor.
“Ramadan kareem!” said her family and
then they ate her delicious Ramadan
gaimat!

“You make the best Ramadan gaimat in the
