comprehensivecarepossibleinourskillednursingandrehabfacility.”NEWROCHELLE,NY(August23,2017)—We’relivinglongerthaneverbefore,butasweage,morepeoplefindthemselvesmanagingchronicconditions,illnessesanddiseasesthatrequirespecializedgeriatricmedicalservices.Withthatinmind,UnitedHebrewofNewRochelletodayannouncedtheadditionofrespiratorytherapyservicesforitsnursinghomeresidents.“Ourgoalistomeetourresidents’advancedhealthcareneedswhileensuringahighqualityoflife,”saysRitaMabli,presidentandCEOofUnitedHebrew.UnitedHebrewhashiredTerrenceSeymourasthestaffrespiratorytherapist,announcedElaineHealy,MD,UnitedHebrew’smedicaldirectorandvicepresidentofmedicalaffairs.A30-yearveteranofrespiratorycare,Mr.SeymourisalsoanadjunctprofessorinWestchesterCommunityCollege’srespiratorycareprogram,andaformerdirectorofcardiopulmonaryservicesatSt.John’sRiversideHospital,wherehecoordinatedrespiratorycareservicesacrossthreehospitaldepartmentsandaskillednursingfacility.“Patientsadmittedtoourrehabilitationprogramandresidentsofourlong-termcarefacilityaremorechallengedwithrespiratoryconditionsthantheyhavebeeninthepast,”saysDr.Healy.“WearefortunatetohavesomeoneofTerrence’scaliberaspartofourclinicalteambecauseheprovidesanextralayerofsupporttoourmedical,nursing,andrehabilitationstaff.”Mr.Seymourisnowattendingtoresidentswithrespiratoryconditionssuchasemphysema,chronicbronchitis,asthma,chronicobstructivepulmonarydisease(COPD),andotherbreathingdisorders.Heisalsoevaluating,assessingandmakingrecommendationsforthecareofindividualswithrespiratoryconditionsandadministeringtreatmentssuchasnebulizers,inhalers,oxygen,andCPAPandBIPAP(non-invasiveformsofadvancedventilationtherapy)care.Inaddition,heisprovidingeducationtotheresidentsandthestaffonthemanagementofrespiratoryillnesses.
