ur team was approached by a family in La Mesa who wanted to sell their homeand get the most money out of the sale. Built in 1969, the four-bedroom, two-bath house was approximately 2,240 square feetand located on the back side of Mount Helix. The home was outdated and needed aesthetic changes andupgrades in order to sell quicklyand at a higher price. Additionally,two of the four bedrooms and morethan 700 square feet of the housewere never signed off on by the county, so our team worked for thebuyer after the sale in order to get
the necessary permits. The “as is” sale price of the homewas approximately $300,000.Instead of selling the house “asis,” the family decided to use our one-stop-shop model to renovatethe home before putting it on themarket to sell. Renovation Realtyspent $84,669 on the renovation.Our team completely remodeledthe home to make it move-in ready,touching every surface. Afterrenovating, the kitchen featurednew cabinets, granite countertopsand stainless appliances. The entirehouse featured dual-pane vinylwindows and ceiling fans. We replastered the pool tomake it more functional and tocreate a clean look in the back-yard. We updated the bathrooms
to feature all new vanities, hard-ware and tiled showers. We alsopainted the entire interior and exterior of the home, and installedcarpet and laminate flooring. After renovation was com-plete, the listed price of the homeincreased to $460,000. The house sold in 42 days. The family set out with a goal to increase the functionality, visualappeal, and ultimately the resale value of their home, and our teamwas happy to help them accomplishthese goals for a faster sale at a higher price.
