It is my pleasure to invite you to join the Maryland Bankruptcy Bar Association and attend its Twenty-Third Annual Spring Break Weekend on May 3-4, 2019 at the Westin Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland.
This year’s Spring Break Planning Committee has given great thought to ensuring our programming this year is timely and compelling. We are thrilled to have Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh joining us as the guest speaker at our annual luncheon on Friday, May 3, and eagerly await his remarks, which are sure to spark discussion in our current political climate. In addition, we have included exciting new program topics, which are sure to be relevant for attendees in all stages of their careers, including Blockchain for Bankruptcy Lawyers, Litigating Bankruptcy Cases, and Accounting Basics for Bankruptcy Attorneys.
For those who love the Spring Break programs that repeat annually, we have you covered as well. We have continued the programs that you have come to enjoy and expect in order to keep abreast of the law such as Recent Case and Rule Developments for Consumer and Business Bankruptcy Cases and the Judges’ roundtable discussions. We are fortunate to be joined this year by fourteen of our esteemed bankruptcy judges from the District of Columbia, the District of Delaware, the District of Maryland and the Eastern District of Virginia. The attendance and participation of our judges truly makes our Spring Break Weekend an educational and networking event not to be missed.
We welcome members of the Maryland Bankruptcy Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association Consumer Bankruptcy Section, Walter Chandler Inn of Courts, and Northern Virginia Bankruptcy Bar Association. We also welcome non-member consumer and business bankruptcy practitioners and non-bankruptcy lawyers seeking to gain practical bankruptcy knowledge. I look forward to seeing each of you at our cocktail party at Fado Irish Pub the evening of May 3, as well as at our always anticipated dessert party later that night.
You should also be on the lookout for forthcoming emails with information about social activities we will be offering the afternoon of Saturday, May 4, after the conclusion of the educational program.
It is quite remarkable that, for over two decades, the Bankruptcy Bar Association has dedicated a weekend each Spring to fellowship, camaraderie and the discussion of bankruptcy law and practice. I look forward to Spring Break Weekend each year, and I hope that you do as well.
