With Heartfelt ThanksSaying thank you does not express enough gratefulness to all who helped to transform a two year, closed up moldy disrepair house into a livable clean smelling home. My nephew Joe and his son Xavier, were suddenly displaced and had to return from Kansas back to Ohio to an uncertain future in finding a home and job. Unknown to him, God’s hands and feet were at work.

I had two weeks to fix this house. After one week of preparing the house, I prayed for a “crew” of people to help with the extreme makeover. There were nine beautiful souls who were able to answer by pleas, with others behind the scene. Thank you to Dave and Polly Richardson, Janet McPherson, Teresa Ferner, Jednak-Kasunic family (Paul, Tim, Scott, and Cameron, and friend Scott), Conell and Chelsea Benton, Kris Cuprys, Scott Lenz and Epworth staff. Again, thank you for embracing my family with God’s loving arms. It was truly a miraculous welcome home!

Epworth Early Childhood Education (ECEC) FundraisersECEC will have a special day at Shorty’s BBQ on Monday, September 24, thanks to the planning committee made up of Inga Holton and Stacey LaPointe. The preschool will earn a percentage of each meal purchased on that day (eat in or take-out). Please plan to enjoy a delicious meal. WELCOMING OUR BABIES!

Many new babies have been born during 2012! Moms, you are invited to the Mom’s Group to “show off” your bundle of joy on Sunday, September 23 (NOTE NEW DATE), 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the church lounge. Come meet other mommies and share your baby’s stories and ask questions of one another. Bring your “quickly growing up” toddlers, too. And invite your friends who are pregnant to come along.

Mom’s Group is a way to connect with other women who are having similar experiences as you are because of the age of their children. It’s a great way to make new friends! Although your children are certainly welcome to stay with you throughout the meeting, child care is also available in the nursery if you call the church by Wednesday, September 19. Susan Smith and Abby Aasbo, both of whom have new babies as well as toddlers, are leaders of the Mom’s Group. Call Pastor Marilynn at church if you have any questions about the group.

Epworth is known for service to the community. Six Super Saturdays of Service is a six-week opportunity for us as a church to partner with local agencies to be the “Hands and Feet of Christ” right here in the Greater Toledo area. Beginning August 25, for six consecutive Saturdays, there will be multiple local agencies benefiting from service projects staffed by Epworth that will involve at least 100 or more volunteers. There will be projects lasting from 3 to 4 hours or longer for all ages and skills. Childcare will be provided for those who have young children (3 days advance notice needed) so everyone can fully participate in giving something back to our community. 2ND ANNUAL AMAZING GRACE RACESunday, September 30, 4:00 p.m.

Last fall 28 adults had fun, fun, fun going on a video scavenger hunt! After videotaping their visits (5-6 person teams traveling by car) to places that began with the letters in the word “GRACE,” teams returned to church for a potluck while watching the videos each team made. We saw a team holding balloons at Red Robin (the letter “R”) and another singing outside AAA. One team cleverly chose to do the letter “E” at the Epworth ECEC sign.

Deborah CircleBecause of the Six Super Saturdays of Service, Deborah Circle will not meet in September. We encourage you to participate sometime this month in at least one of the service opportunities. Invite some other Deborah Circle members to join you! Watch the Tower for October’s meeting.

Parents Nights OutSponsored by Epworth’s Parents Connections

Calling all expecting parents and parents of children birth through 6th grade: Are you looking for opportunities to connect to other parents of similar aged kids at Epworth? Are you looking for chances to get out without having to feed the kids, answer 300 questions, or finding a babysitter? This fall we have planned some events and activities that provide those opportunities. Age-appropriate child care and fun will be provided for each of these events at the church, if requested in advance.

Sunday Afternoon Fun!Like football? Like to watch it on the big screen? Like wings? Then join us for food, football, and fun on Sunday, September 16, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings on Central and McCord. Sign up with the church office by Sunday, September 9. Age-appropriate child care will be offered at Epworth from 3:15–7:30 p.m. When signing up, please note the number and ages of the children for child care. Don’t worry about your little one(s)—they will have plenty of fun activities to do. There will be bounce houses (supervised of course) for the kids to play on at the church (one for the toddlers and one for those who are older), and pizza for dinner. The nursery will be open for those who are very little too!

“Parent’s Night Out”- Bonfire Grab your marshmallows, graham crackers, and Hershey bars because for this parent’s night out you get to make s’mores! Don’t like s’mores? No problem! Come and just hang out! The Roesti’s will be hosting our bonfire on Saturday, October 13 (time TBA). Sign up with the church office by October 7. Age-appropriate child care will be offered at Epworth. When signing up, please note the number and ages of the children for child care. Healing and Wholeness ServiceTuesday, September 11

EPWORTH’S next Healing and Wholeness Service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. The service is open to the entire community.

Lisa Haas will speak about God’s healing and wholeness through the various stages of her recovery following a serious auto accident three years ago.

The service will include healing prayers and the Sacrament of Holy Communion led by Pastor Thomas.

The Healing and Wholeness team participating in the service will be: Beth Irwin, B.J. Brengartner, Ann Koffman, and Penny McCartney. Cecil Baughman will accompany the service.

A free-will offering will be received for the Ability Center.

Please invite a family member, friend or neighbor who needs God’s healing touch.

The 6th Annual Laura J Fall Fest – A Celebration of Life!Please join us as we gather to celebrate the life of our daughter, Laura Jahnke, on what would have been her 28th birthday.

BIBLE MANIA September 23

Each year we present Bibles to our Fourth Graders with the help of their parents. Bibles will be presented in worship at 9:45 and then students and parents will leave for Bible Mania, their Milestone using their new Bibles. You should be receiving a letter about this soon. If you do not, please contact the Education office for more information.

If you would like to help purchase a Bible for a child, or be part of the prayer team for these children, please call the Education office.

Stepping Up to Help This FallOn September 9 our children will begin a new year learning more about themselves and our God who loves them. Many possibilities are listed to help in Sunday school below. No experience required, only a love for children and a love for Jesus. All lessons, supplies, and support are ready and waiting. Substitutes are available if you need to miss a week. The Education staff will train you in small groups if you are new.

ALL WE NEED IS FOR YOU TO STEP UP TO HELPPreschool meets at 9:45 and 11:00: Two leaders--One month commitment Lessons are repeated during the month in different ways each week.Elementary meets at 9:45 for Kingdom Rotation: Two shepherds care for the same group September through June. No lessons, responsible for prayer time, discipline, assistance. Leaders teach one lesson for a month to different groups each week.Elementary meets at 11:00 in W.O.W. Leaders teach the same Sunday of each month to grades K-3. The children come out after Children’s Moments in the service, and experience their own worship service.

Calling 4-7 Graders to Serve as Acolytes

Acolytes have been helping in church services since ancient times. The word acolyte is taken from an ancient Greek word meaning companion, attendant, or helper. Acolytes work closely with the pastors and take part in church services to help people worship God.

Being an acolyte is a great way to get started in your service to Epworth. We are looking for boys and girls in the 4th through 7th grade to serve as acolytes this year. Usually this is done at the 9:45 service and at other special services during the year (like Christmas Eve).

Those interested in serving this year should contact Mrs. Norris or Mrs. Boze.

Kids ROC! Kids Reaching Our Community“Kids ROC” is a service outreach ministry for students in grades 4, 5 and 6. It will be an opportunity for students in these grade levels to meet once a month outside the Sunday School classroom to reach out into the community to serve and help others in a service project. After the project, the group will meet to go out for hot chocolate, ice cream or lunch. Besides serving others, hopefully the children will bond and connect to develop lasting friendships at Epworth. The first activity will be a part of Super Saturdays, making cookies for the Kairos Ministry on September 15, at 9:00 a.m. in the church kitchen. Parents are welcome to attend. To All Widowed PersonsWe are starting a new year of 3rd Sunday fellowship. Meeting only for the pleasure of eating a Sunday meal together with no obligation and no structure. Epworth Adult SinglesLUNCH BUNCH meets bi-weekly at various locations throughout the area at 12:00. We will be meeting September 4 at El Sol, 1007 S McCord. Be sure to contact Miss Kate to save a seat. On September 18, we will eat at Star Bar and Grill, 5215 Monroe (at the back next to Lifestyles). We always have interesting table talk and welcome your comments.

Our Regular meeting will be Friday, September 21 where we will be dining at the HUNGRY I on Holland-Sylvania Rd. This is an opportunity to bring a friend to participate in our Epworth Adult Singles Ministry. Our purpose is to provide an atmosphere of Christian fellowship and growth as we continue our Christian Journey and to be the hands and feet of God. We do community outreach and welcome new members. You do not have to be a member of Epworth to participate.

Epworth Tennis GroupThe Monday Epworth Tennis Group is looking for players and substitutes. We play Mondays at Shadow Valley on Central Ave. at 12:30-2:00 p.m. Our season is from September through December and then January through April. If only one of these sessions works for you and you are interested, that might work, too. We have 2 courts, men and women, and rotate players, playing at about a 2.5-3.0 level. Regular court fees apply. We are an informal, friendly bunch and don’t keep track of scores beyond that day. We have full-time players and part-time players (that rotate a slot with another player). Substitutes would be on our list and called when needed. If you would like more information or would like to sign up, please contact Susan Kanwal.

Circuit Shuffler Bridge Players

The process of putting together the 2012-2013 Circuit Shufflers schedule is starting. Church membership is not necessary and if you don’t have a partner we will try to match interested people. The schedule is once a month from October to April. If hosting is a problem, arrangements could be made at the church.

The Circuit Shufflers need new members, so if you know anyone that might be interested, have them call Barb or Wendy Lawrence.

WANTED: Greeting CardsSnail mail can still provide encouragement to us when we need it most. Therefore Congregational Care knows that cards received in the mail are a special ministry. Do you have some unused greeting cards hiding in your house? Many of us receive unasked for cards in the mail from various companies and charities. If you don’t plan to use yours, our Congregational Care Committee will! Many cards are mailed throughout the year to shut-in members as well as to members celebrating special events or having to face personal challenges. You may donate yours for this use by bringing the cards to Nancy’s office marked “Congregational Care.” Thank you very much!

Epworth’s New SignWe hope that you have noticed Epworth’s new sign on Central Avenue. This sign replaces the older sign that was unable to be repaired and will allow us to promote our ministries and activities of the church in a more visible fashion. We want to especially thank John Ingersoll, chairperson of Epworth’s Trustees Committee, for his extended work in the acquisition of this new sign.

Christianity and World Religions led by Laura SwitzerBegins, September 5, 6:30 p.m.Four of the major world religions, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and Judaism, are examined by Adam Hamilton, pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. Begins September 5, and will run for six weeks. Cost of book is $12.

DISCIPLE III: REMEMBER WHO YOU AREBegins September 12This Class is part of the four-phase DISCIPLE program and is prepared for those who have completed BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY. The driving idea in this study is the connection between memory and identity as the people of God. Participants will read the major and minor Old Testament prophets, with the exception of Daniel, and will read the thirteen Letters traditionally attributed to Paul. Several themes weave their way through the study—the call to remember, the call to repentance, the need for renewed vision, and the place of community. The prophets and Paul are continually calling hearers and readers back to their God and to a sense of who they are as a people “set apart.” Facilitated by Jay Whitney. Begins Wednesday, September 12, at 6:30 p.m. for 32 weeks. Cost for the class is $40.

Financial PeaceBegins September 18, at 7:00 p.m.We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan! It teaches God’s ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you’ve dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!

FPU classes meet for an hour and a half each week for nine weeks beginning September 18. Pastor Keith Luke will be leading the class. If you have questions, please contact Ruth Ann in the Education office or ruthann@epworth.com. You may sign up by emailing Ruth Ann or calling the church office. Cost of the member kit is $75 due upon registration. Scholarship money is available. Once you have purchased a member kit you may attend classes anywhere at no extra charge. To have your kit at the first class, please register by September 5.

Married? Then this is the class for you! Begins September 18Whether you are a newlywed or an oldywed or something in-between, you have the chance to enhance your marriage giving you more joy, better communication, and deepening your friendship. In the Love & Respect Marriage Class, you will learn five key principles to bring fresh insight into your marriage in an enlightening and entertaining way. The group will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30–8:00 p.m. from September 18 to October 23. The group will be facilitated by Gbenga Ajilore and Gayle Alberda-Ajilore. Childcare will be provided. Cost of the study guide is $10.

The Kerygma program: Hallelujah, the Bible & Handel’s MessiahBegins September 26, at 7:00 p.m.Pastor Thomas will lead this program. The 10-part series on the impressive and beloved oratorio will explore the biblical basis and background to one of our most beloved musical works. Participants DO NOT have to be an expert in either music or the Bible to benefit from this study. The only requirements are a genuine interest in learning more about the Bible and a desire to appreciate Handel’s Messiah more deeply. Class sessions will include Bible study and listening to the related portions of the music. There will be a class trip to a live presentation of Messiah. (Details for the class trip to be released at a later date.)

Christianity’s Family Tree Tuesday Mornings, beginning October 2The traditions of eight other Christian denominations are examined. This study by Adam Hamilton gives a brief history, outlines major beliefs, and describes some things we can learn from that tradition to strengthen our own Christian faith. Begins Tuesday, October 2 at 9:15 a.m. Cost of participant guide is $10. This class is led by Laura Switzer. This class will run for eight weeks.

HOW TO BE COURAGEOUSDo you know a man who would like to learn more about being the fathers, grandfathers, husbands, and men of the church God called them to be? If you do, have them sign up for the Courageous Living Bible Study.

The study is based on the movie Courageous, the story of the lives of five men and how they handle the challenges of their jobs, their families, life in general, living their faith, and walking with Christ.

The study group will meet from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m., Thursday nights starting September 20.

New Member SeminarSunday, October 14

Would you like to find out more about Epworth and perhaps make it your church home? If so, plan to join us on Sunday, October 14, in room 213 for a one-day seminar. The first session will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by lunch and introduction of the Epworth program staff at 12:15. The final two sessions will be after lunch concluding by 2:45.

While attending this seminar does not obligate you to join Epworth, those who have attended and have completed the Spiritual Gifts Inventory, being offered beginning October 25 for 3 weeks, are welcome to unite with the church. Many persons in our church family deal with disabilities of one kind or another. One year ago, after the Doug Anderson consultation, Epworth realized we needed to have a Special Needs Committee to help each of us become more aware of those around us and ways we can include everyone in ministries of our church. As a result, Buddies have been trained to meet the special needs of our Sunday School children. The Health Fair and two Sunday morning sermons focused on Disability Awareness. A consultant from “Joni and Friends” came to help us discover ways to provide services that might be needed. Also our congregation is considering “adopting a Sunshine Family Care Home” so that Epworth folks can develop caring relationships with persons with developmental disabilities.

You can be part of the caring simply by being yourself—having conversations with those who have special needs and showing Christ’s love to each and every person. Pray that God will use Epworth to be a welcoming presence in the lives of persons and families in our community who have special needs. If you want to be directly involved with the committee, call Dana, Director of Christian Education.

Although Body Recall has been taught at Epworth for almost 30 years, only a percentage of class participants are Epworth members. It is a great outreach ministry that keeps people moving and feeling good so that they can enjoy an active lifestyle outside of class.

Epworth certified instructors Brenda Kunkel and Pam Christensen can’t imagine their week without Body Recall. Three days a week, they plan their lessons and benefit themselves from their workout, including a motivational lesson that gives new insight into the aging process and all the “issues” we face as a living-longer population. Weakness, balance and falling, strength and flexibility are all a part of the discussion, and exercises are led to increase stability in those things which make life harder day to day.

As we age, we face a wide range of challenges that come from varying degrees of fitness due to chronic physical conditions, being sedentary, or just the aging process itself. Body Recall addresses these things and responds ACTIVELY.

Macular Degeneration Support Group

Monday, September 10Epworth has an established Macular Degeneration Support Group that meets during the months of September through May. The meetings are held at Epworth on the second Monday of each month at 2:00 p.m.

The first meeting for this fall is on Monday, September 10, at 2:00 p.m. Fellowship will be enjoyed at this meeting and this year’s calendar of topics and activities will be discussed at this meeting. New members are always welcome!

Health Ministries Moment: National Preparedness MonthThere are many items that we don’t think about on a day-to-day basis unless we are placed in a threatening situation. At the beginning of the school year, many of our children’s classes get them thinking about being prepared for an emergency. However, the beginning of school is one of the most hectic times for parents, and many of these items get put on the “nice” to do list rather than the “need” to do list. Perhaps you have children away at college, you live alone, or you or someone you know has a disability. This is the perfect time of year to get ready for the “what ifs” in life. Ready.gov, FEMA.gov, and CDC.gov all have information on this matter.

Make a PlanYour family may not be together when a disaster strikes, so it is important to plan in advance: how will you get to a safe place; how will you contact one another; how will you get back together; and what will you do in different situations?

You should also inquire about emergency plans at places where your family spends time: work, daycare and school, faith organizations, sports events and commuting. If no plans exist, consider volunteering to help create one. Talk to community leaders, your colleagues, neighbors and members of faith or civic organizations about how you can work together in the event of an emergency.

As you tailor your plan, consider working with others to create networks of neighbors, relatives, friends and co-workers who will assist each other in an emergency. Discuss your needs and responsibilities and how people in the network can assist each other with communication,

care of children, pets, or specific needs like the operation of durable medical equipment. Create your own personal network for specific areas where you need assistance, as well as resources to help others.

Individuals with Access and Functional NeedsEach person’s needs and abilities are unique, but every individual can take important steps to prepare for all kinds of emergencies and put plans in place. By evaluating your own personal needs, you can be better prepared for any situation. If you or someone close to you has a disability or other access or functional need, you may have to take additional steps to protect yourself and your family.

SeniorsPeople with special dietary needs should take precautions to have an adequate emergency food supply. Discuss your needs with your network and make sure everyone knows how to operate necessary equipment. When appropriate, discuss your needs with your employer.

Seniors should keep specialized items ready, including extra wheelchair batteries, oxygen, catheters, medication, food for service animals and any other items you might need. Keep a list of the type and model numbers of the medical devices you require. Be sure to make provisions for medications that require refrigeration. Make arrangements for any assistance to get to a shelter.

Make a Difference…Give Blood!

Health Ministries committee invites you to give the “Gift of Life” at our American Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, September 19, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center at Epworth.

To schedule an appointment to be a donor, please email your top two preferred times to our Blood Drive Chairperson, Ernie Humbert, or call Nancy in the office at 419-531-4236 with your preferred times. A committee member will get back with you, and our committee will do its best to accommodate your time requests!

The Red Cross needs over 300 donors per day to keep up with the current blood needs in Northwest Ohio. Please join us in supporting our community and making a difference!

“Caring for the Caregiver” Workshops

Are you a “Caregiver” tending to the needs of a loved one or friend? No matter what form your efforts take, caregiving can have a profound personal effect on your life and how you feel as you commit your time, energy, and emotion to your responsibilities. If you feel overwhelmed, burnt-out, isolated, or even if you would just like to learn helpful hints from others who are doing the same thing, this program would probably be very beneficial to you!

“Caring for the Caregiver” is a 3-part series of workshops that will be hosted by Health Ministries and presented by Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The workshop dates are on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Epworth, October 9, 16, and 23. You may register for classes now by calling the church office at 419-531-4236.

Each class size will be limited to a maximum of 12 caregivers.

Arrangements can be made for respite care for your loved one in order for you to attend the workshops if needed. Please let us know if you need this assistance at the time of registration.

Expansion of Home Communion Ministry

The Home Communion ministry is available for families of Epworth with loved ones who are unable to make it to church for various health or other reasons, regardless of age.

The Home Communion ministry was formed three years ago as a means of providing this most important ministry to our homebound members. Beginning this month, the number of Home Communion stewards has been increased in order to reach more of our members, even if they are homebound for only a temporary time period.

The first Sunday of each month is designated at “Home Communion Sunday.” If you or a family member would like to receive Home Communion on a regular or temporary basis, please contact Sherry Clark in Health Ministries at sherry@epworth.com for more information.

First Aid Kits and DefibrillatorThere are four first aid kits at various locations at Epworth, which are maintained by the Health Ministries Committee. The kits are marked with signs.

Please make yourself familiar with the first aid kit locations:

• Narthex area---On top of coat rack in coat room near entrance to narthex by nametags

• Family Life Center---On top of the coat rack at entrance to Family Life Center

• Upstairs---On top of the coat rack in hallway (down the hall from room 214)

• Kitchen---Drawer in kitchen near sink (drawer has first aid symbol on it)

There are also additional first aid kits in the preschool area, which are maintained by ECEC.

Epworth also has a defibrillator, which is located in the narthex on the wall on your left side as you enter the cloister area. The defibrillator is linked to our emergency system, so that when the door to the defibrillator is opened a loud alarm will go off and the local emergency response teams will be notified. Health Ministries periodically offers CPR training courses, which include defibrillator training.

Grief Support for WomenA new grief support group for women will begin this fall at Epworth. Losing a loved one can leave you in a dark and lonely place; grief can be overwhelming. This group will provide a supportive environment for participants to share their challenges and begin the process of healing.

“Grief Support for Women” will meet Mondays at Epworth from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., for 10 weeks beginning September 10. We will use the book Understanding Your Grief by Alan Wolfelt as a springboard for reflection and discussion, but the primary “authors” of this journey will be the participants themselves. The book and related materials will be available at the first meeting, and the cost for the materials is $20.

We hope you will consider joining us on the journey from grief to growth. Registration is limited, so if you are interested in learning more, please contact Sherry Clark in Health Ministries at 419-531-4236. Karen Landes and Jennifer Church will be facilitating the discussions.

BUNCOOnce every month the Friends in Faith women gather at one of our homes for an evening of fellowship, food and Bunco. The hostess of the month provides the main course and everyone else is asked to bring a side dish, appetizer or dessert to share. We also request you bring kleenex to be donated. Friends in Faith Kleenex MinistryWe are collecting Kleenex again for Harborside Healthcare/Sylvania, 5757 Whiteford Road. Many of the residents there do not have the resources for incidentals, so our simple gifts are so much appreciated. Please bring a box of Kleenex to any Friends in Faith event or leave your donation in the church office. Since Christmas of 2008 we have delivered 1,000 boxes of Kleenex, 802 toothbrushes and 680 tubes of toothpaste. Contact Lin Bingham if you would like more information or would like to help with the next delivery. We make a visit to each resident in the facility when we make a delivery and the residents really look forward to seeing us!

Friends in Faith Book Club, Tuesday, September 18Join us for our next book club discussion on Tuesday, September 18, at 7:00 p.m. in the lounge. Our selection is Extraordinary, Ordinary People: A Memoir of Family by Condoleezza Rice. We welcome anyone who would like to attend. Dessert will be served up along with lively discussion.

Stephen MinistryOne day Joseph Little found himself wandering the streets of Houston alone, no longer employed, his marriage crumbling, and searching for a place to live. A few weeks earlier he had moved to Houston with his family. “I had been a partner in a law firm, and I gave up my law practice to move back to my wife’s hometown and work for her family’s company,” Joe said. “Shortly thereafter, I got served with divorce papers. So, I found myself in a new city where I knew practically no one. No job. No wife. No kids, at least temporarily. It was a great personal crisis.”

In his wanderings he caught sight of the steeple of First Presbyterian Church, where he had been married. He approached the associate pastor, who soon provided a Stephen Minister. For 18 months Joe’s Stephen Minister cared for him and “walked” with him as he weathered the divorce and began rebuilding his life.

The Epworth congregation is blessed with 13 Stephen Ministers. These dedicated caregivers are being the hands and feet of Christ to those both in our church and community who are hurting in one way or another.

Continue to pray for our Stephen Ministers and for those who are in need of one-on-one care during times of crises, need for a good listener, and life’s transitions. If you know someone in need of a Stephen Minister or would like to learn more about this life-changing ministry, please contact Pastors Bob, Marilynn, or Keith or our Stephen Leaders Janice Harris or Sheri Luke.

Stephen Ministry Training ClassesClasses will begin Tuesday September 18, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., and each following Tuesday for the duration of the training. Plan to join us to explore the opportunity to learn and grow through the Stephen Ministry program. Program trainers are Pastor Bob, Sheri Luke, Wes Johnson, and Janice Harris. Epworth Sunday Morning Education ProgramNursery, Toddler, and Pre-school

Nursery and Toddler childcare meet at 8:30, 9:45, and 11:00 in the pre-school wing.

Pre-school Education 2012-2013 Children are invited to come to room 112 for “Play -N- Worship.” Each month the children will explore a new Bible point through stories, songs, and play. In addition, every month they will learn a different memory verse and action prayer to reinforce the Bible point. This exciting new approach to pre-school education will have your 3 year-olds, 4 year-olds and 5 year-olds not yet in kindergarten singing, praying and worshiping all week long! The preschool children have been collecting “Pennies for Jesus” to buy Bibles to send with our mission teams.

Elementary (Kindergarten through Fifth Grade) at 9:45For one more Sunday, September 2, we will continue our story of Peter in prison and the people who prayed for him. On September 9 we will begin with new shepherds in new groups as we begin new Kingdom classes. Each week all will begin in BibleTime Players to experience music and prayer, and then move to other rooms with your shepherd for games, cooking, art, and science activities. Quarterly mission projects will be announced soon.
