Replace the shields (#29).
Refer to Figure 2-5 on page 5:14. Remove the gear box shaft by first loosening the set
screws on the bearings (#30) and the bevel gears (#31). Also remove the clutch arms (#32) and the carriage bolt (#33) from the cam plate. If a small seeds attachment is involved, remove the shields and the chains. Take the 5/16" bolts (#34) out of the bearing flangettes (#35). Lower the shaft and clutch from under the gear box.
Refer to Figure 2-6 on page 6:15. Place the shaft in a vise and lock two "C" clamps
around the clutch and pull the spring back, remove the dowel pin. Remove the clutch, bearings, and gear from the shaft.
16. Place the bearings clutch and the gear onto the new shaft in the reverse order.
17. Remove the sprocket on the clutch and mount the spacer (#36) and the new sprocket (#37) with the 1/4" x 2" bolts (#38)
18. Mount the shaft under the gear box with the 5/16" bolts (#39). Leave the bolts loose and place a 1/8" thick plate between the 1" shaft and the bottom of the gear box shaft (See Insert Figure 2-6). Push the 1" shaft against it and put the shaft on the gear box keeping the lower one level. Tighten the bolts on the bearings (#39). Bolt the clutch cam plate against the mounting bracket (#40). Lock the set screws (#41) on the bearings and the bevel gear.
19. Replace the small seeds drive chain and shields.
20. Hook up the clutch arms (#42) and set the jaw clutch.
Refer to Figure 2-7 on page 6:21. Install the chain with the longer links (#43)between
the two clutches. Mount the new chain idler bolts(#44), then line up the sprockets and tighten the chain. (Do not over tighten the chain - this may cause the electric clutch to prematurely fail.)
22. Install the shield (#45) to the bottom two casting bolts. Route the main harness in the tongue then route and tie the wing harness to the marker lines with plastic cable ties.
