NEW DELHI, Aug 20:
Against the backdrop ofincursions by Chinese troops,India today said its armed forceswere taking "more than ade-quate" action on such incidentsand have not allowed China toencroach any part of its territory.
"There have been cases wheretheir patrols have been gettinginto areas which are perceived byus as our territory. Therefore, ourforces have been taking adequateaction and so far, we have not
allowed them to encroach any partof our territory.
"There are meetings whichare held and responses whichour armed forces are taking aremore than adequate to protectour territory," Defence MinisterArun Jaitley said.
He was talking to reporterson the sidelines of a functionhere to inaugurate Navy head-quarters building.
Jaitley was asked about arecent incident where the
Chinese troops had reportedlyentered 25 to 30 km deep intoIndian territory in Burtse area inLadakh.
On the particular incident, hesaid, "The Army Chief hasalready clarified that the inci-dent which was being reporteddid not appear to be accurate."
At the function, the DefenceMinister said the Navy will get anew building after it has movedits headquarters to Delhi fromMumbai several years ago.(PTI)
