Transfer students come to Thiel College for a variety of reasons. Some come from

larger schools and are seeking personal, individualized academic plans with frequent,

meaningful faculty interaction. Some students have completed an associate’s

degree program and want to finish their bachelor’s degree at a college known for

its commitment to academic excellence. Some even come from other small private

colleges because they realized that something was missing at their previous school.

The people here—faculty, staff, administrators and fellow students—make Thiel

unique. They are caring, supportive and will help you succeed in the classroom, on

the athletic field and in leadership roles in our many clubs and organizations, all while

preparing you for your future career and/or graduate school.

Transfer Students

“I wasn’t fulfilled in my major [at my original college] and I transferred to Thiel College for the

neuroscience program. I learned quickly with the support of Thiel’s amazing faculty and staff

about the wonderful opportunities available to its students.

I joined the golf team and it immediately helped me meet others, kept me focused on

maintaining a healthy lifestyle and gave me an outlet. Thiel College has a positive outlook on

life and has high hopes of success for all of its students. The people at Thiel are very welcoming

and accepting and made it an easy transition.” — EMILY FRIEDRICH ’13

“I chose to attend Thiel because it’s close to home and I knew I would be successful here. What

I love about Thiel is that the campus is not too big. I went to a larger university right out of high

school and I felt like a snowflake in a winter storm. Students here can have personal attention

from the professors and not worry about just being an ID number they put a grade next to. I

would strongly advise any transfer student to take advantage of the resources provided at The

Learning Commons. Make time in your schedule to meet with your professors and get to know

things about them–and don’t be afraid to ask questions... someone will point you in the right

direction.” — ANTHONY HARVEY ’13
