Introduction 3
Dragan Radovic is the founder of Fitness 4x4 Hour of Power. He and his son Rajko currently hold a
world record for the stationary 20kg Dragan Lift. The classes are based on movements with variations
of lifts. I asked the question about performing the lift while walking, trying to see the maximum
distance achievable while doing so. Rajko was positive about this but was clear about the challenge
involved, particularly the mental focus needed.
Three years, with another Hour of Power instructor, I managed to climb Mount Snowden whilst
performing Dragan Lifts. Since then I have been trying to push this harder to see just how far we can
take this. This event is to try to cover as much ground in a 24 hour period. This is a personal challenge
for me, something not done by anyone to date, and so it’s up to be to answer my own question and set
the first 24 hour walking Dragan Lift record. We are working with Guinness to get this recognised.
NIALL HOWARD
Hour of Power Instructor
After raising money for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice a couple of years ago with a special Hour
of Power class at Huddersfield BMW, and taking part in Redwood Events recent ‘Walking with Holly’
event supporting the same fantastic charity, we couldn’t think of a better charity to support with our
efforts on the Yorkshire Dragan. Setting a World Record and raising money for these guys would be an
amazing combination

Being Part of Team Niall 5
Yorkshire Dragan - July 16-17, 2016
The principal aim of this initiative is for Niall to have a crack at setting this world record. To achieve this, he
will need a degree of support. We are looking to sign up groups of people to walk with Niall, stage by stage,
to provide navigational and advance warning support. Ideally, there will be two people walking ahead of Niall,
navigating from the maps provided, and calling out obstacles as they see them. They will also help Niall keep
the pace. A third person will walk alongside Niall to be the communication link between Niall and the
organisers.
The first and the last stages are open to all-comers. It would seem appropriate to kick off the event in style
and to bring the last leg home in style given that we start and end at the Forget Me Not Hospice.
Groups of three can register for more than one stage. We have to ensure that we get all 20 covered.
Walkers will be asked to pay a registration fee of £15. This covers the cost of their event t-shirt and a small
donation. Walkers can raise additional funds too if they choose. Indeed this is something we hugely welcome.
There are two methods for this
1. They can direct people to make donations through the online page for the event at
https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Niall-Howard
2. We will provide a paper sponsor form to registered participants who request one
Registration forms available here - http://www.redwoodevents.co.uk/yorkshire-dragan
STAGE SPONSORSHIP
There is also an opportunity for companies and individuals to play a major part in the event as a Stage
Sponsor. Any donation of £100 or over will see the donating person / company named as a sponsor of one
of the 20 stages. For this we will publicise their names on out website, Facebook page and with shout outs on
Twitter. This is a great way to show your support for Niall and the Forget Me Not Hospice. Contact Darren
Boston for details (Contact Information is on the last page)
The Forget-Me-Not Children’s Hospice 6
Yorkshire Dragan - July 16-17, 2016
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports over 185 local children with life shortening conditions and their
families in West Yorkshire. However in the area we cover there are more than 1,300 children who may need
our support, so there is much more to do.
We support children and families in our purpose built hospice in Huddersfield as well as in their homes
through our acclaimed Hospice at Home service.
We support children and families in many different ways to make their lives just a little bit easier. From
offering respite to hydrotherapy, music therapy, neonatal care, counselling or bereavement support; our care
team supports the whole family.
We are rated as “Outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission putting us in the top 2% of Health and Social
Care providers in the UK.
We need to raise £3.8million each year and with just 6% of this coming from government sources, the
support of our community is vital.
