• God of wind• Lives on a floating island near Sicily called Aeolia where he

kept the winds in a cave• Son of Hellen and the nymph Orseis• Had 6 sons and 6 daughters

Myth• Gave a leather bag to Odysseus that had the wind that would keep him

from sailing home• Sailors thought it was treasure and opened it, releasing all the wind• Took a very long time for Odysseus to get home to his wife due to the

weather
