Fundamentals to SB 1070• Consists of 11 sections.
• 4 of the sections were the cause for many of the worries in regards to harassment and discrimination.

Fundamentals to SB 1070• #2. Requires law enforcement, in making a lawful stop, detention, or arrest
for another law, to make a reasonable attempt to determine the person's immigration status where reasonable suspicion exists that the person is not lawfully present in the country;
• #3. Creates a new misdemeanor offense for the willful failure to complete or carry an immigrant registration document under certain circumstances;
• #5. Creates misdemeanor offenses, in certain circumstances, for (c) applying for or soliciting work while unlawfully present in the country;
• #6. Creates misdemeanor offenses (or felonies if 10 or more illegal immigrants are involved) for unlawfully transporting or concealing an illegal immigrant or encouraging one to enter or remain in the country illegally;
