Mission Magnified A Mission Conference at Heartland CenterNovember 1921
Do you know mission leaders who are seeking community, inspiration andrenewal? Or a congregation that is seeking wisdom for mission direction andpartnership? This fall, World Mission is hosting "Mission Magnified," a missionleader conference right here in Kansas City, Missouri. Mission leaders fromaround the country will gather for worship and reflection, connection andcommunity, all while gaining practical tools for use in local, regional andinternational mission work. Workshop Highlight:Creating a Compassion Fatigue and Resiliency PlanIn this interactive workshop,participants will understand the cause and effect of compassion fatigue. They will also learn 5strategies for combating compassion fatigue: Intentionality, selfregulation, selfvalidation,connection and selfcare. We will apply thesepersonally as well as create a plan to implement these strategies into our ministries. A PCUSApastor, chaplain and spiritual director, Rev. Anne Lange has worked with individuals, familiesand communities in grief, loss and
trauma. Anne is certified with the Association of Professional Chaplains and serves on theNational Commission for Board Certification. Anne is board secretary of the Presbytery PastoralCare Network. This workshop is presented by the PPCN.

SOA is a US Army training school thattrains soldiers and police from Latin American countries. This training is fundedby US taxpayers and falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense.The annual Vigil commemorates all victims of ongoing SOA violence in theAmericas and calls for the closure of the school as well as a change of USforeign policy towards Latin America. Today, SOA Watch is a large, diverse,grassroots movement, rooted in solidarity with the people of Latin America.
