The Christian Messenger
Monticello Christian Church
June 17, 2015
The next newsletter, The Christian Messenger, will
be mailed WEDNESDAY, JULY 15
Articles are due in the church office by
SUNDAY, JULY 12
To activate the Prayer Chain, please call the church
office at 583-7261 or Sylvia Ward at 583-8845. Email
requests should be sent to Rev. Chris at
[email protected] or Deb at [email protected].
Do you receive our church prayer emails? If not, email [email protected] and you will be added.
The Church is not just the building at the corner of Gordon Rd.
and Airport Rd. The Church is the people of God in various places
sharing the message of love and salvation.
You will have opportunities to hear first hand from two of the
missionaries supported by the prayers and finances of Monticello
Christian Church.. This is very important not only for the adults
but for the children to meet and hear from our missionaries.
Sunday, June 21, at all three worship services, John Bailey will be
preaching about his work recently in the Philippines and in China.
Wednesday, June 24 at 7 p.m. Johnnie Bailey (son of John & Cecile)
will be speaking about his mission work in Japan.

All reports, financials, and membership reports were approved as presented.
Exterior Property reported that mulch has been applied around the church, Tribett Electric will be working on defective park-ing lot lights and the outlet on the north side, and estimates are being received to replace the NW sidewalk due to it sloping toward the building.
Joy Ministry reported the extra Bunn coffee maker was taken to the Forge, Wed. night dinners were cancelled for the summer due to lack of attendance, and the tithe of finances will go toward the mortgage of the Forge.
Membership Cmt. reported that Lifetouch will be hired to do a Pictorial Directory of the congregation with dates of Aug. 12-15 and Aug. 19-22 from 2-9 p.m. weekdays and Sat. 10-5. Third quarter activity will be an ice cream social Sept. 19th at the Kingsmen Quartet concert.
Worship Cmt. stated a garden cart has been purchased to move décor items from storage at the Forge to the sanctuary, Father’s Day gifts were purchased, and the revival was discussed.
Youth Cmt. will begin meeting with the Christian Ed. Cmt. for the first 30 minutes to work together and then divide for their individual business items. Nine Square in the Air was an approved game to be constructed. Senior Recognition was held and names and addresses put into the bulletin. The Upward Sports Program was discussed. Scarlet Raven concert is Aug. 8 with John Ballenger responsible for advertizing the event. The basketball goal company will be contacted as the backboards are mal-functioning electronically. The Forge doors now have push handles and keys are not needed to lock upon exiting.
Average worship attendance for May was 330 with 9 additions to membership and 1 removal due to death.

For those who have not found Jesus May our Heavenly Father watch over our church and let our membership increase each week. More to hear the Word and give their lives to Him For all our Service members serving overseas. Youth to have God’s hedge of protection around them and that they would pause and listen to Jesus then follow his Word Thank you, Lord, for the storm damage not being worse than it was.
We lost trees but our home was safe. Praise Jesus! That my brother and his family find Jesus Spiritual healing Personal revival and repentance

The Bright Beginnings Staff and Childcare would like to thank everyone that donated to our playground. We were able to get the new mulch and now we are able to stain the new equipment. We appreciate all the hard work that the volunteers put into the play-ground. The children are so excited to begin playing! Thank you! Thank you for your gift in memory of Bud Mummert! By send-ing a Gideon card, your monetary donation will provide for the purchase and placement of Scriptures throughout the world. Nelson Weaver For your kindness and sympathy when times are hard to bear, we thank you for the comfort that comes from those who share. The family of Bud Mummert Thank you to the congregation for the gift cards that I received for my 15th Anniversary as your pastor. You are a thoughtful congregation, and it is my joy to serve you.
