FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY
CELEBRATION CALENDAR
“Save the date!”
Sunday 13 December
Nostalgic Christmas Party Throughout the afternoon
following 12:30 Mass.
Franciscan Handmaids of Mary are holding a fundraising raffle to benefit St. Edward Food Pantry. The food Pantry has been feeding those in need since 1928 from across Staten Island. Today, St. Edward feeds an average of over 1,800 adults, children and elderly per month who come from across Staten Island in order to feed their families.
Our St. Vincent de Paul Society, a supporter of the pantry, will aid the Sisters in offering raffle tickets on November 28th and 29th in the Lobby.
Advent Giving Tree
Our Giving Tree will be displayed in the church vestibule starting on Thursday, November 26th.
The tree, as in past years, is decorated with gift tags. Each tag lists an item for a needy child or adult. Please select a tag, purchase the item listed and return it gift-wrapped and the tag attached, to the school basement the weekend of December 12
th & 13
th only so that gifts can
be delivered in time for Christmas.
No gifts can be left in the school before, or after that week-end because there is no room to store them.
Thank you for your cooperation and for making Christmas brighter for others.
NAR-ANON
The Nar-Anon Family Group is primarily for you who know or have known a feeling of desperation concerning the addiction prob-lem of someone very near to you. We have
traveled that unhappy road too, and have found the answer with serenity and peace of mind. When you come into the family group you are no longer alone, but among true friends who understand your problem as few others could.
For further information, call Chris at 718-967-2608.

You are cordially invited to
An Old Fashioned Christmas Party
Sunday 13 December 1:30 - 5 p.m.
Holy Child Forum
Our Golden Jubilee Festivity for the month of December will take the form of a Christmas Party immediately following the 12:30 Mass on Sunday 13 December.
Light Luncheon will be served. Refreshments will include wine and other beverages.
Admission, Luncheon and Refreshments are “on the house”.
During the course of the afternoon The Bell Choir will perform Christmas selections from their newly released CD, Golden Bells, copies of which will be available for purchase.
Also on sale will be two editions of Holy Child 50th Anniversary Commemorative Christmas Ornaments, in blown glass and pewter.
Christmas Carol booklets will be taken up periodically by all as we join together in seasonal song with the keyboard accompaniment of Sandra Pace.
On display throughout the hall will be photo exhibits carefully prepared by:
Peg McGoff, Lidia Larkin, Richard Larkin, Betty Schiebel, John Schirripa, Jo Schirripa, Lorraine St. John and Lucy Zilli. Also on display will be artifacts from Holy Child’s past, one of which is sure to fascinate the children.
Guests are encouraged to bring along any photos, albums or artifacts that feature Holy Child Church. These may be spread upon the tables where they are seated to provide stimulus for table hopping conversations.
An Open Mic will stand for anyone who wishes to come forward to reminisce about Holy Child in nostalgic verbal sharing and interchange.
Cookies will be served up later on for those who had lunch and for those who choose to drop in after lunch. All are welcomed to come and go between 1:30 and 5 at their convenience.
This parish party promises to be a remarkable affair which may very well be honored with
fond remembrance come the next anniversary celebration of Holy Child’s establishment.
