right.
I’m happy to announce that the “Art Star” award
for September goes to Sebastian R. (Rm.

tian for all the hard work, creativity, and inde-
pendence that he has shown over the past month.
Art Intern
Some examples of the “Dog Therapy” collages that students recently completed are now on dis-
play in Conference Room B. They will remain up for the next two to three weeks.
The artists that have their artwork on display are: Jorge C. (Rm. 118); Brian C. (Rm. 119);
Katherine M. (Rm. 117); Michael R. (Rm. 119); Heather H. (Rm. 117).
Please stop by and take a look.
Art on Display
You will be seeing a new face in the art room over the next few months, because we will be joined
by a new art intern. Her name is Jennifer (Jen) A. and she is an Art Education major from
SUNY New Paltz.
She is scheduled to be with us every Wednesday from 9am to 2:30pm. Please help me make
her feel welcome at the ACA. Thanks!!

After a lot of hard work the first series of Noteworthy greeting cards are now finished. As you may
remember, Noteworthy is a collaboration between the Anderson Center Transition and Art De-
partments. All cards in the series are adorned with artwork created by our students and the handling/
packaging will also be completed by students
Noteworthy cards will come in packages of eight cards. Each package will contain four different card
designs and you will receive two of each card design. The cards measure 4.5x6 inches and are blank
inside. Price for each package of Noteworthy cards has yet to be determined, but all money raised from
their sale will go to fund various programs at the ACA.
Below are pictures of the art chosen for the first series of Noteworthy cards. We hope you like them!

3 Additionally, students have been cre-
ating these apple decorations. They
were made by coloring red con-
struction paper with “apple” col-
ors (i.e. yellow, greens, and red).
They then traced an apple shaped
template and cut them out. Leaves
were created in the same manner,
only this time students used “leaf”
colors (i.e. yellow and green). All
pieces, including a brown construc-
tion paper “stem,” were later
glued together.

Fall has come once again to the Hud-
son Valley and to the ACA Art
Room. Students have been hard at
work creating a series of seasonal art
projects.
The first, “Spooky Landscapes”
show a tree with fall colored leaves
and pumpkins.
Students used templates to create
their trees and fences. They made
leaves by ripping paper that they de-
coupaged with Fall colors. Also,
pumpkins were created by using
some leftover decoupaged paper.
