Welcome to the final newsletter for the 2018 school year! Wow! The year has gone so fast, it is hard to believe that Term Four is coming to an end to round off a terrific year! What a terrific year we have had with so many significant successes and, above all, our students achieving great results across the entire curriculum. Throughout the year the children at Kingsley Park have been recognised for their excellent talents and skills, receiving many curriculum achievement and You Can Do It Value awards each week. Congratulations to all of our students for their contribution to the school year – I am so very proud of all of you! Final Assembly Our final assembly is tomorrow at 1:30pm. At this assembly we congratulate and farewell our 2018 Year 6 students who celebrated their Graduation Night on Tuesday night at Mt Erin Secondary College. Sentral Parent Portal App
Flexibuzz will be phased out by the end of this year and all
communications will be sent out primarily through the Sentral Parent Portal App. Using
the Sentral App gives the school the ability to communicate information to each year level, small groups or
individual families, at the school's discretion. It allows for private messaging between parents, students and
teachers. Parents have the ability to report future absences and notify the school of daily absences. Whole
School emergency incidents are communicated through Sentral. Further down the track we will use it to
book parent/teacher meeting times. Please ensure you have the Sentral App on your phone, device or
computer and have created login details.

Class Organisation for 2019
On Tuesday students received their reports along with their teacher and class information for 2019. When placing students in classes we aim to place your child with a teacher they will identify with positively and with some friends in the same class whilst ensuring each class has a balance of gender, year levels, learning styles and student abilities and dynamics. Class placement takes a lot of time and effort.
We highly emphasise that ‘Inside time is Learning Time, Outside Time is Socialising Time’, please understand the merits behind this. We want the best for all children and for them to have the opportunity to reach their best learning potential. Student voice will be heard in helping us to make classes for next year, they will have a say in who they would like to be in a class with. This however is not guaranteed as often close friends, who spend a lot of outside time together don’t always learn best together. Some parents have put forward letters of concerns or issues, these have been taken into account wherever possible if highly valid reasons have been given. Please place your faith in us in helping your child’s learning needs as best we can as we want each and every child to achieve success at school. Student class placement will not be changed once decided.

Merry Christmas! Each family received an Awesome Kids Calendar this week. Our school was proud to participate in this wonderful calendar and have some great students artwork displayed within. What a great Christmas gift worth purchasing. All proceeds will go to a Community Chest to fund additional local projects for participating programs and schools.
School Council PRESIDENT - Karen Russell
The school council and KPG have had an amazing year working together with students and staff. We worked
towards one common goal, which is to make KPPS the best community school, who provide a safe, friendly learning
space for our children. We have listened to your needs and wants and tried to deliver
on them. We have communicated to you often and had much success on many
projects during the year including: grants, updating school policies, approving a new
reporting system, and discussing budgeting to name a few. Unfortunately we were not
successful with PYP however we need to continue to improve our indoor and outdoor
facilities and resources. The school will always need fund raising and we appreciate
your assistance on this matter, our most recent success being the Colour Run raising
over $8000. Congratulations to all and special thanks to the KPG.
This year we loved seeing so many of you at our community days, I have never seen
attendance at Remembrance Day so large, not to mention the support at the Colour
Run.
We really do appreciate all of the parental support that you have provided this year, from assisting with reading,
canteen duty, cheering at sport days, helping with wrapping and the Mothers/Father’s Day stalls, attending Gala
nights, cooking Bunnings sausages, to helping with numerous other items. We are all part of this community that
make Kingsley great. We couldn’t do this without your help.
On behalf of the parents and children - A very big thank you to our teachers and staff. We thank you for your
support, without the dedication of the teachers and staff we would not be able to offer all the amazing
opportunities. Our teachers and staff put in many additional hours to make us a wonderful school supporting all of
our community events like HPV, school discos, Christmas concerts, Breakfast Club to only name a few. We are very
lucky to have teachers who truly care about our children’s education and welfare.
Some of our staff will be leaving us and we wish all of you the very best. In particular I thank Donna for all her
wellbeing initiatives particularly introducing Kids Matter. Niambh thank you for many things especially your hard
work greeting hungry children at Breakfast Club, always with a warm smile. Thank you both for 6 amazing years.
Thanks to Jan our Business manager of 23 years who is sadly moving on to a school closer to home. Thanks to
Courtney Mason, Jess Emery, Bill Griffin, Mel Croon and Sarah Letho for all your hard work. Finally, a big thank you
and farewell to Debbie, who has been part of the school since 1999. We thank you for all your work, there are so
many things but particular all your work on productions, Wakkakiri, 100 of braids and costumes and the wonderful
annual memories in our Year books.
It has been an honour to be your school council president this year. Thank you for the privilege. Thank you to my
fellow school councillors (Lisa, Elisa, Matt, Tanya, Kristy Hayley, Beck, Donna, Gill and Marc ) for all your tireless efforts.
I have enjoyed working with all of you, its been a great experience and you are a great team. I would like to take
the opportunity to specially thank our retiring members of the council – Beck and Donna. You will be missed.
Finally, we wish the families leaving us, the best of luck and thank you for being part of our community. To the
children graduating from Year Six, congratulations and good luck next year. For the remainder of you please have
a Safe and Happy holiday and I look forward to seeing you all in 2019 for our School Carnival.
Merry Christmas
