demo / enthusiasm• Equipment – set up
ahead of time• Sharing – can they??
Partner activitiesor coach fed
Kids with Parents• Ratios – not about how
many kids but how much space
• Delivery – some to kids and some to parents

Working with Parents
• Don’t feel you always have to coach – Let them PLAY!• Wait for times for intervention – kids are frustrated / parents are
frustrated• Many parents may not play tennis and will be anxious if they are doing or
saying the right thing.• Demo how to roll, throw or hit to kids – Remember many parents will not
know how to create a positive athletic environment. You are the expert!• Model praising for effort rather than results – parents naturally compare• Take the time to build a relationship – they are your greatest resource
