FERODO 3204/3F friction material is formulated foruse as a Railway Disc Brake Pad. It has beendeveloped from 3204F to satisfy the 0.35µrequirements of the British Rail and UIC specifications,but with improved wet friction characteristics.It is therefore a direct substitute for asbestos basedpad materials but offering the additional performance,running cost and passenger comfort advantages of3204F. It is also a direct substitute for 3204F wheregreater wet friction is required.
FERODO 3204/3F is currently fitted on the followingvehicles:1: UK Class 158 (DMU)2: UK Class 159 (DMU)3: Private Owner Freight wagons
FERODO 3204/3F offers :Stable friction level over a wide range of temperature, clamp force, axle load and speed.Excellent pad wear resistance.Long disc life associated with low metal part wear and elimination of ‘hot spotting’.Suitable for use against cast iron and steel discs.Suitable for both wheel and axle mounted discs in addition to direct wheel web braking.Noise free brake applications

FERODO 3204F is an asbestos-free, mouldedfriction material formulated for use as a Railway DiscBrake Pad. It has been specifically developed tosatisfy the 0.35µ requirements of the British Rail andU.I.C. specifications.
Consistent frictional characteristics combined with “conformable” properties make 3204Fhighly suitable for a wide range of railway vehicles. Although originally formulated for highspeed applications, the stability of frictional performance over a wide range of temperature,clamp force, speed and axle loads make 3204F ideal for freight applications.Current Fitments Include:1: HST Power & Trailer Cars2: Siemens Heathrow Express & Desiros3: Adtranz (Bombardier) Turbostars & Electrostars4: UK Mainline Units5: Various UK Freight Vehicles

FERODO 3223/1UL exhibits the following characteristics:

Meets both UIC dry and wet requirements
Suitable for use against cast iron and steel discs.
Suitable for axle and wheel mounted discs.
Low disc and pad wear.
Long disc life due to its conformability
Stable friction level over extremes of temperature,axle load and clamp force.

Excellent pad integrity.
FERODO 3223/1UL is recommended for allpassenger and freight applications where UICapproval is mandatory. The material is fitted to anumber of vehicles in Europe.
