SummarySummary
• Oil is transferred from the maintenance roller to the drum before ink is transferred by the print head
• Ink transfer from drum to paper as the paper feeds between the transfix roller and drum
![Page 4: Team Xerox Final Design Report Mechanical Engineering Design Team Jeff Carpenter Charlie Morris David Postel Jeremy Ryatt Electrical and Computer Engineering](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062409/5697bf8e1a28abf838c8c99d/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
• Objective: produce a imaging system that is capable of capturing ink drops on the drum of a solid ink printer and on the paper
• The imaging systems will be used by Xerox, Portland State Undergraduate and Graduate students for research of the solid-ink printing process.
• There is no specific imaging system that compares the drum images to paper images

• Gooseneck lighting system took too long to damping out
• Not enough light at maximum magnification with working distance (89 mm) of the lens
• Schott goosenecks to be stable but still did not provide sufficient lighting
• They did not provide focusing of the light output. • A pair of focusing lenses were purchased for
goosenecks
