The tax return is the document that you use to file your annual income tax return.
This form may be used to initially fill
out the FAFSA application, but will
not be sufficient for completing the
Verification Process.

Return Transcript
The Return Transcript shows line items
from your tax return as it was originally
filed. Your transcript shows most, if not
all, of the information our office will
need in order to verify your FAFSA
information.
This document can be requested by
visiting the IRS website. Under Step 3,
choose “Order a Transcript” then fill in
the requested information. After that,
choose “Return Transcript” in the drop-
down box.
It will take 5-10 days for you to receive
the return transcript in the mail. Once
you do, you will need to turn it in to our
office if you were chosen for
Verification.

Account Transcript
The Account Transcript shows adjustments
made by the tax filer or the IRS after the
original return was filed.
This document does not satisfy Verification
requirements according to Federal
regulations.
