21st May 2015 - Week 5 Term 2
Taupo Pt – Wainui Bay Trip
On Friday 15th May, the school will be heading out by bus to Wainui Bay. This trip is part of our partnership with the
Department of Conservation and Project Janszoon, where we are to help look after an area of the Abel Tasman National
Park.
Each class will be take an area to investigate from Wainui Sandspit out to Taupo Pt. The senior classes will be heading out to
Taupo Pt and may need to do some wading in water to get to there, so shorts would be
preferable.
We plan to leave school by bus at 9.30am and return by 2.30pm. Parent help would be much appreciated, so if you are free
on Friday and would like to come for a walk, please let us know by filling in form below or leaving a message on the
Namaste Nepal Gala Tomorrow (Friday 22 May)
The children have had a great day today participating in Nepalese activites and preparing for our mini gala tomorrow,
where we aim to raise money for the people of Nepal affected by the recent devastating earthquakes.
If you have any saleable produce we can sell at the gala e.g. fruit and vegetables, or second hand items, pre used and loved toys, books, baking, please drop off them off to school in the morning (preferably).
The children are helping to help run the stalls and activities and everyone is welcome to come and support us in this fundraising venture.
A Nepalese style lunch and afternoon tea will be available for sale, instead of our usual Friday lunch.
Friends, family and whanau are invited to a mini fundraising gala starting at 12pm tomorrow, Friday 22nd May at Motupipi School.

“Archiedactyl can you go and

“Yes sir”.
“I’m back”.

Rippa Rugby
Yesterday we took two teams
to the Year 5 and 6 Rippa
Rugby tournament.
The children demonstrated
great skills and can be proud of
their performances.
The final play off was between
Motupipi 1 and Takaka and was
a 'nailbiting' final with both
teams evenly matched.
Takaka Primary won the final
4 -3.
Thanks to Kahu from Nelson
Rugby for organising the event
and to the students from the
High School for refereeing.
