• Gave lectures on natural philosophy at the age of 12
• Made principal within 4 years
• His brother and him were born color blind
• This led him to research color-blindness, which is officially known as Daltonism

• Matter is composed of small particles called atoms, cannot be broken into smaller particles, created or destroyed
