REGIONAL TRANSIT MAPThe Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is pleased to provide the 2012 Metropolitan Atlanta Regional Transit Map. Created through the efforts of the ARC’s Regional Transit Committee, this map presents an overview of existing public transit services in the region as provided by CATS, CCT, GCT, MARTA, GRTA Xpress, the buc, Atlantic Station Free Ride, the Cliff/CCTMA Shuttle, and the Georgia Tech Stinger and Tech Trolleys.
How to Use This MapThe large map shows the routes of the four regional public transit services and of five localized shuttle systems in the metropolitan Atlanta region, all of which are open to the public. The smaller maps show the places where these systems meet and where riders may transfer between the systems. The map shows the routes as they existed in March 2012. As routes are subject to change, please check with the individual transit providers for route updates, fare and transfer information before beginning your trip.
The ARC Regional Transit CommitteeThe Regional Transit Committee (RTC) was established as a policy committee of ARC in 2010 to focus on issues of regional transit planning, service coordination, funding, and governance and works to promote and maintain a seamless, integrated transit network for the Atlanta region. RTC builds upon the work of its predecessors, the Transit Planning Board and the Transit Implementation Board. The Breeze Card is metropolitan Atlanta’s state-of-the-art fare collection system. Developed by MARTA, the Breeze Card offers transit users access to the region’s entire transit system with a single fare card.
The Breeze Card is a reusable plastic card designed to be used by most transit customers.
It offers many features, such as Balance Protection (sign-up required) and convenient reloading at dozens of locations and online at www.breezecard.com. Breeze Cards can hold cash value as well as weekly or monthly discount passes for MARTA, Cobb Community Transit, Gwinnett County Transit and GRTA Xpress.
Breeze makes transferring between the systems easy – a transfer is loaded onto the card when you tap in on the reader to pay your fare on buses and coaches and when you tap to use the MARTA rail system.
