What is Datastream Advance 4.0?
Advance is a reporting and charting interface specifically designed for use with Datastream’s financial data service. Advance lets you request over 100 standard Datastream reports, charts and data with great flexibility.

What is DS AFO?
DS AFO is the Add-in of Datastream Advance in MS Office. It enables you to download data and transfer charts into Excel, Word or PowerPoint. They can be embedded as refreshable objects for future updating.

How to find data codes?
• In the navigator (= Code Look up)
• Select the correct Data Category!

Step 1: Select the series via Navigator
• Select right category
• Look up series in navigator
or
• If you know the code: use expert entry
• Fill in the code: (DScode, Mnem, Sedol, ISIN, Local code, IBES or MSCI code)

Step 2: Select how you want to display the data
• Display overviews on a single series
• Display charts of a single series: eg Moving average charts, line charts
• Display reports on a single series like a performance report
• Only for constituent or local lists
• To compare one or more series

Step 3: Adjust your settings and parameters
• Time period:
• Currency:

Note: When comparing one ore more series, make sure you select the datatype before adding it with the + sign!
