What is Paraphrasing?
Paraphrasing means putting information into your own words, you can paraphrase:
- A single word,
- A phrase group of words,
- A whole sentence and a whole page.
What is Summarizing?
Summarizing is when you use your own words to draw out the key points or main arguments of the original text, significantly reducing its length.
What is Psycho-social Process?
Psychosocial Process pertaining to one’s psychological development in the context of one’s social environment.
Vision-related psychological factors include personal autonomy, functional independence, and psychological well-being.
Reading is as an active process because through reading our emotion and psychological thinking will react.
The Characteristics of reading process involves successfully decoding the words (mapping the letters in a word to their correct sounds).
-Then you must put these words together to comprehend the meaning of the text.
The Stages of Eric Erickson Theory of Psychosocial Development
1) Autonomy versus doubt
- Erik Erickson suggests that even while giving a hand,
parents should permit children at this level to explore freely
and do things for themselves.
2) Developing initiative (3 to 6 years) Initiative versus Guilt
- Children ask many questions and begin to understand things
which had previously been mysteries to them.
3) Industrious (6 to 12 years) Industry versus Inferiority
- They frequently engage in activities that allow them to
practice skills required by their culture.
4) Establishing identity (12 to 18 years) Identity versus Role
Confusion
- Adolescents grapple with the question of who they will become
as well as the question of who they are.
Self-concept Theory –
- Family, peers and teachers play a significant role in the formation of a child’s self-concept. Factors such as the mother’s use of library, reading materials in the home, and the father’s occupational level affect the child’s concept as a reader and towards reading.
