COURSE OVERVIEW:The aim of our Substation Safety Awareness Training Course is that personnel entering a substation environment will have a good understanding of substation equipment and the associated hazards.
Our Training Course is comprehensive and includes the following topics:
• Health & Safety Legislation• Danger & Hazards of Electricity• Terms & Definitions• Electrical Plant & Identification• The Function of Protection Systems• Safety Rules• Isolation & Earthing• Safety Documentation• Other Substation Safety Equipment• Substation Do’s & Don’ts
ASSESSMENT & CERTIFICATION:On passing an examination, you will be issued with a Certificate of Completion. We are accredited by NSAI to ISO Standard 9001:2015 and are a Registered Training Provider with Engineers Ireland.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE:On completion of the course you will have a basic understanding of:
• What is Arc Flash? • Electrical Arcing & minimum safety
clearance distances• Use and understanding of typical
terminology & definitions• Electrical Plant Voltage levels• Safety Rules - Responsibility of
Persons & Roles• Isolation & Earthing - 5 Golden Rules• Function and application of earths• Safety Documentation• Insulation & Rescue Equipment

Our Substation Safety Awareness Training Course is conducted by our experienced training instructor. Each on-site training session usually takes 3 hours.
