o Chapter19o Chapter19isthedisciplinethateveryoneisexpectedtofollowatMoanalua

HighSchoolandallSchoolevents.

o DressCodeo Appropriatedressforaformallearningenvironmentisexpected.Examples

ofinappropriateattirewouldincludevisibleunderwear,exposedmidriff,exposedbottoms,lowhangingpants,clothingwithsuggestivepictures,offensivephrases,ordisplay/advertisementofdrugs,alcoholorweapons.

o Ifstudentscomeintotheclassroomininappropriateattire,theteacherwillsendyoutotheVicePrincipals.Theadministrationwillcontactparentstobringappropriateattire.

o CellularPhoneExpectationso Priorto2013-14schoolyear,cellularphoneswerenotallowedoncampus.It

isaprivilegetobeabletouseyourphonesduringrecessandlunch.o CellularphonesmayONLYbeusedduringrecess,lunchbreak,andwhenthe

teacherallowsitduringclassforeducationalpurposes.o Ifastudentisusingthephoneduringclasswhennotallowed,theteacheris

expectedtotakethephoneandturnitintotheadministrationduringtheschoolday.Thestudentwillclaimtheirphoneattheendoftheschooldaywithanadministrator.

o Thereisnotalkingonthephoneduringschoolhours.Ifastudenthastomakeaphonecall,theymustgotothecounselorortheoffice.

o FieldTripo Fieldtripsareawonderfulformofauthenticlearning.However,inorderto

keepeveryonesafeitisimportanttofollowMoHSprocedures.o Studentsmustgetsignaturesfromeachteacherofimpactedclassesontheir

parentpermissionform.Teacherssignthisforminordertoacknowledgethestudent’sabsencefromtheirclass–theydonotgivepermission.Allstudentsshouldbeencouragedtoattend.

o Thestudentisalsorequiredtogetparents’signaturestoapproveattendingthefieldtrip.

o Allworkmissedduetothefieldtripwillberequiredtomakeup.o Followingthefieldtriptheteacherwillnotifyattendanceandteachersof

studentsthatdidnotshowupforthefieldtrip.

o ContrabandItemso Includedsuchitemsastobacco,drugs,alcohol,electroniccigarettes,any

itemsthatcouldbeusedinadangerousmanner,gamblingitems,gangaffiliation,andskateboards.

o ContrabanditemswillbeconfiscatedandturnedintotheVicePrincipal.

o PersonalItems

o Studentsareresponsibleforallpersonalbelongingso Personalbelongingsmustbewiththepersonatalltimes.Studentsare

discouragedfrombringingvaluableitemstoschool.Theschoolwillnotbeheldresponsibleforthelossofordamagetotheseitems.

o Tardieso Studentsareexpectedtobeintheirseatsandreadytolearnpriortothe

tardybellforeachclass.o Ifastudentislateforthefirstclassoftheday,theywillnotbeadmitted

withoutatardypass.PleasereporttothefrontofficeandgetapassfromAdministratortobeadmittedtoclass.

o Absences

o Ifstudentsareabsent,theymustnotifytheyattendanceofficewithaphonecallorwrittennotewithintwodaysuponthestudent’sreturntoschoolforanexcusedabsence.

o Absencesofmorethanfiveconsecutiveschooldaysrequireanotefromthedoctor,dentist,orcourt.

o Anynoteorcallaftertwodayswillbedeemedunexcusedandrecordedassuch.

o Teachersarenotrequiredtoprovidemake-upforstudentsthathaveunexcusedabsences.

o Uponretuningtoschool,studentneedstoobtainanabsentnoticefromtheattendanceoffice.

o Passeso Ifstudentshavetoleavetheclassroomforanyreason,theyneedtohavea

behindportableclassrooms,MakaisideofP.E.buildingandgym,MaukasideofQ,behindF,roadwaysanddriveways,restrooms,aroundhallwayentrances,baseball-softballstadiumarea,footballstadiumbleachers,gymnasium,tenniscourts,andinallmarkednoloiteringareas.

o DuringrecessandLunchstudentsaretobeonthebottomfloorsorinclassroom.Studentsarenotallowedonthesecondandthirdfloorsof

theremainderoftheday.o FollowthearrowsindicatingtheONEWAYtrafficpatternsatamaximumof

10mph.o Illegallyparkedcarswillbeticketedand/ortowedatowner’sexpenseand
