Story Map: The cricket war by Bob Thurber

Setting: A farm house, surrounded by nature, the cellar.

Where: No specified.

When: In the summer, several weeks.

Major characters: Dad, mom (Hellen), the son.

Minor characters: uncle Burt, his brothers.

Plot/problem: A house wife has freaked out by the sound of crickets in their cellar. The

husband tries to get rid of them but in the process accidentally he burns his house down.

Event 1:

The woman pushes her

husband to get rid of the

crickets.

Event 2:

The man sprays the

house, but the crickets

still come up.

Event 3:

Desperated, the man

cleans the cellar of junk,

set fire to the junk and

unfortunately the flames

got the house.

Outcome:

The house is burned almost to the ground but the crickets are still alive.
