Directions for Story Elements Comic Strips

1. Create a comic strip depicting the story elements

for “Donovan’s Word Jar.”

2. Plan out your scenes first on a separate sheet of

paper before starting the comic strip squares.

3. Square 1 – Title of Story with original

Square 2 - Setting of Story

Square 3 – Main Characters

Square 4 – Problem in story

Square 5 – 1 Event in Story

Square 6 – Solution to problem

4. Squares 2 – 6 must have voice bubbles

5. Above each square, list the name of the

appropriate story element.(title, setting,

characters, problem, event, solution)

6. Each comic strip must be done neatly and colored

with colored pencils. No markers please.

7. Mount comic strip on construction paper. (Provided

by Mrs. Morris)
