Teen loses mums carA Diggers Rest womans Holden Commodore was impounded on Thursday night after her 18-year-old son was caught doing 139km/h in an 80km/h zone on Vineyard Road, Sunbury, about 7.50pm. The car was seized under hoon legislation and the teenager is expected to be charged on summons with various offences. Secure your number platesSunbury police are urging motorists to use one-way anti-theft screws on their registration plates to prevent them from being stolen. Stolen plates account for about 45 per cent of theft from cars in Hume. The screws can be bought at major hardware stores.
Art show to return Woodend Lions Club and Macedon Ranges Art Trail will team up to revive the Lions art show next year. The show was not held in 2014 because of insufficient entries. Pay up for prostate researchA prostate cancer awareness fund-raiser will be held at the Commonwealth Bank in Kyneton on September 26. Sunbury and Macedon Ranges over-60s cricket club will hold a come-and-try day at Gisbornes Sankey Reserve from 11am-4pm on Sunday, September 21.
Practice is at Boardman Stadium in Sunbury on Wednesdays.
The club competes in the Victorian over-60s cricket association against teams throughout
Melbourne, Geelong and Gippsland. Matches are played on Sundays at two-week intervals.
To be eligible for the coming season, players have to be 60 or older on October 1.
You need a reasonable level of fitness and a willingness to play for fun and enjoyment rather than winning at all costs, Bill says.

More volunteers are needed to arm tourists with information so they can navigate their way around the Macedon Ranges.
With the peak tourism season approaching, Macedon Ranges council is seeking more volunteers to join its visitor information centres in Woodend and Kyneton. Volunteers must commit to two weekend shifts each month.
Council economic development and tourism manager Kylie Lethbridge said about 70 people already volunteered at the two centres.
She encouraged people available on weekends to apply. Were growing and expanding the service to ensure we have good coverage at both of our centres, Ms Lethbridge said.
We have the challenge that some of our volunteers are elderly, and in the colder months they just dont live in the Macedon Ranges any more.
Macedon Ranges resident Chris Poynter retired four years ago. Having lived in the area for 21 years, Mr Poynter, 69, spends some of his time volunteering at the Kyneton Visitor Information Centre. Its a very enjoyable way of spending four hours a week, talking to people and enthusing about Kyneton and the region, he said.

Haylands Souvenir probably doesnt remember his mother he was orphaned at a young age but he can sure remember all the tricks hes since been taught.
The handsome Clydesdale stallion will compete at next months Sunbury Agricultural Show, where he will be tested on his working ability.
Souvenirs owner Barbara Ford says Clydesdales were popular farm horses in
All show and lots of gothe early 20th century because of their good walking pace and ability to work all day covering large areas.
Souvenir has won the supreme champion title at the Royal Melbourne Horse Show in Werribee and twice finished second at the Royal Melbourne Show.
Mrs Fords relationship with horses stretches back to when she was a little girl, when her father regularly entered horses at the Royal Melbourne Horse Show.
Weve become one big family with everyone
else out there, Mrs Ford says. Ive met many people with the same interests as mine.
While her husband isnt that keen on horses, Mrs Fords daughter Denia shares the passion.
[Clydesdales] are horses with personalities. They do get enjoyment out of breeding, working and handling, Mrs Ford says. And theyre intelligent horses, too.

It is too easy to be fooled by home staging which is a term that we are gradually becoming familiar with.
It used to be just run the vacuum over it and do the dishes but nowadays there is a whole set of rules to
follow!
The idea is, that a staged home stands out from all the others and therefore gets sold more quickly. It
certainly can be carried to extremes with reports of sellers hiring storage units to cart their junk off to.
Larger items of furniture are encouraged to be put into storage by professional home stagers so that the
house looks bigger and more spacious.
Another step is to remove anything personal like photographs, so that buyer can visualize the house as
their own. Closets are de-cluttered so that they look more spacious and all bathroom paraphernalia is
supposed to be gone from the counter top! Garbage bins are even removed and hidden from sight.
However it has been suggested that home staging can also be deliberately used to hide problems and
that buyers are sidetracked from the important issues by a well-staged house.
