PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III (later stated as PTPN III) is a state owned enterprises (SOE) thatoperates in Palm Oil and Rubber Agroindustries and Agrobusiness.
PTPN III has 34 units of palm oil and rubber estate, 8 units of Rubber Processing Factory with totalcapacity 200 Tons Dried Rubber/day and 12 units of Palm oil Mill with total capacity 585 TonsFFB/hour).

CORPORATE PROFILE
Special Economic Zone Sei Mangkei (later stated as SEZ Sei Mangkei) is a business developmentapproach in special zone for industrial center based on palm oil. In the future this SEZ will be alsodeveloped as a satellite city with supporting facilities such as dry port, hotel, golf court, hospital,apartment, residential and others. This SEZ is expected to be the main factor of the company toacquire sustainable added value.
SEZ Sei Mangkei is one of Indonesia’s first SEZ established by Indonesian GovernmentRegulation No. 29 in 2012, located in in Bosar Maligas sub-regency, Simalungun regency,North Sumatra province.
SEZ Sei Mangkei is divided become three zones namely : Industrial Zones, Logistic Zones andIndustrial Zones. Industries that will be developed to focus on the processing of palm oil andrubber, as well as various industries.
Simalungun Mayor Bill of Decision Number. : 188.45/193/BPPD/2013 which was about theappointment to the PTPN III as Development and Management Institution of SEZ SeiMangkei.

Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Sei Mangkei has a land area of 1933.80 Ha with the status of SupervisionRights. SEZ Sei Mangkei is located in Bosar Maligas sub-regency, Simalungun regency, North Sumatraprovince. The distance from SEZ Sei Mangkei to Medan City is ± (more or less) 144 Km, access toSumatera causeway ± 10 Km, to Kuala Tanjung Port ± 40 Km and to Kuala Namu international Airport is ±110 Km. SEZ Sei Mangkei is an industrial area located in the center of raw materials based on agro thatare not owned by other industrial area in Indonesia.

1. Palm Industry Zonea. Potential processing of derivative products other than palm oil, can also be produced margarine,
shortening, vanaspati (vegetable ghee), ice creams, bakery fats, instances noodle, soap and detergent,cocoa butter extender, chocolate and coatings, specialty fats, cleaning soap mixes, sugarconfectionary, biscuits cream fats, filled milk, lubrication, textiles and bio-diesel oil (fatty acid methylesters, FAME). Especially for bio-diesel, the demand for this product in the next few years will increase,especially with the implementation of policies in several European countries and Japan to userenewable energy.
b. Potential processing Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) derivative products can be produced shortening, cocoabutter substitute, specialty fats, ice cream, coffee whitener/cream, sugar confectionary, biscuits creamfats, filled mild, imitation cream, soap, detergent, shampoo, surfactant, soap noodle, glycerine, fattyacid and cosmetics.
c. Potential oleochemical derivatives products based Crude Palm Oil (CPO) can be produced methylester, plastics, textile processing, metal processing, lubricants, emulsifiers, detergents, glycerine,cosmetic, explosives, pharmaceutical products and food protective coatings. Potential productsderived from industrial processing residual CPO can be used as fuel and materials boiller semifurniture.
d. The economic potential of palm oil waste in the form of oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFB) is a sourceof potassium and the potential to be processed into organic fertilizer. Thus for oil palm plantations cansave the use of chemical fertilizers by 50%. Another function of the EFB is a fiber material for car seatfillers and mattress.
e. The economic potential of the stem of the palm trees can produce vitamin E through extraction. Whilethe trunks of palm trees can be used as raw material fiber board for furniture, chairs, tables, cabinetsetc. Meanwhile, bunches waste /effluent rest of MCC can be used as filler powder mattress, chair padsand other uses.

2. Rubber Industry ZonePotential finished rubber products industry in the country is generally classified into several categories ofproducts produced as follows :a. Tyres (bicycles, motorcycles, passenger vehicles, light trucks, buses, aircraft, heavy vehicles) and
related products (tyres, nipples, etc.).b. Products for industrial and automotive engineering such as conveyor belts, automotive components,
electronic components, rubber rollers and bearings.c. The finished product latex (latex goods) such as gloves, condoms, rubber thread, balloons,
spigmanometer, catheters and foam.d. General-purpose rubber products (general rubber goods) such as carpets, footwear, sports products
and household appliances.
