Saw 4 boys on Mankate street, just suits, no jackets or hatraino gloves• & holding their hands as tho they were freezing, & did look like Cubans to us -
Hope I'm not doing wrong thing by mentioning these little things -
rn Thank you for takimg time to write, & send your talk, &
your repudiation of the "slanders" used against you - I have noticed Mrs Oswald being treated so nice, & wonder if she bears watching - & if she is a citizen now - Also noticed this Psychiatrist in our locality,g and seems to have made a good many moves.
I often send my "Human Events" & political magazines on to other people, & since I did, I've ;wished I had written you about one person, believe he was vice Pres. of "Post", who was resigning to take a Gov't. appointment in Washington- When we heard Dr. Goff speak he has been a communist & now traveling & speaking, against "is, he mentioned that "The Sat. Evening Post," has become communist controlled- We do notice the Editorials Sound like it- If the paper with the name of this appointee comes back to me, as I hope it does, send the name- Heard today that they claim 9 excape, an. estimated average, real often from East Germany; if this is true, many could be camouflauging as refugees, & really be spies- who have been let escape- Also, with the many entering our country thru the border between here & Mexico, many could be spies-
Pmsure you have all these thoughts in mind, also, & are working hard- We do so little, how I wish we could help more. Hope you can retain your good health, as there is likely no one could fill your place. - So our best of good wishes - Respectfully,

Rolland Gainsley, Chief, Ann Arbor Police Department, Ann Arbor, Michigan, has advised that through liaison with the University of Michigan (U of M), he has provided some assistance to that University in connection with visit of Oswald. He said U of M administrators were most concerned that some protection be afforded Oswald, and that possible measures be taken to insure her privacy and safety during her stay in this area. He said his department has discreetly covered her few public appearances at the time oi her arrival, her "press conference", and have given some limited escort service on request.
He noted her area residence has not been made public, and efforts of her host church, University officials, and her counselor at the University, have all been aimed at maintaining her privacy. All of her correspondence arriving at tha University is screened for her at her request by a University employee, she being given only that material which is personally meant for her.
a.
Chief Gainsley noted the course of instruction being undertaken by Oswald is a most intensive course, demanding some seven hours of class and language lab work daily, six days a week. He said that in their limited experience to date, University precautions against this visit were unnecessary, as Oswald has created very limited interest locally after an initial flash of publicity. She has become lost on the Michigan campus as "just another student".

Dear Mr. Hower,
And fellow American - What is happening to our country, that respect, loyalty and decency is vanishing so completely?
I was shocked, and appalled to read in (Mar. 28) newspaper, that the weapons used in the hideous murders of orbeloved President Kennedy and Trooper Tibbetts are to be returned to Marina Oswald to be sold as curios -Surely, this can't be true -
No one, has been proven either innocent or guilty, and the weapons should be impounded as evidence forever, if necessary.
The family of our late President, must be horrified to learn, that such a disposition of these weapons, is underway.
If, it is within your power, Mr. Hoover, to reclaim these guns, and reassign them to oblivion, please act!
Respectfully yours,

Siimemmoge-
Many American people are worried about Mrs. Marina
Oswald and wonder if there is not some way that she may
be deported to Russia. We are sorry for her experience
as the vile of the late Mr. Oswald and this sympathy Was
shown in the many gifts to her at the time of his death.:
This marraige to a young mans twice divorced, and now
her claiming the rifle which killed the late President
Kennedy because she has been offered $20,000 for it, makes
her an undesirahle perSon for the United States and it is
the opinion of many that her ties are with Soviet Russia: -14
Also, this husband being an employe of Texas Instruments,' ' r
a concern having millions of dollars worth of contracts for
Government use instruments, makes one wonder if there isn't
Something which bears watching. I trust that your depart-
ment and that of the Attorney General never let up in
checking her movements if legally she cannot be returned to Russia.
