While victims wait for court, advocates of the JCAC help clients file Orders of Protection, safety plan with them around their specific living situation, connect them to all the resources they might need in order to stay safe (i.e. job, childcare, healthcare, counseling, food, shelter, legal advice, etc.), educate them about domestic violence, accompany them to court, and provide them with emotional and moral support.
