The purpose of this presentation is to provide the latest updates in the Services to Youth Facet.

Delivering and SustainingTransformational Programs
The STY facet’s vision is to deliver and sustain transformational programs for youth in Pre-kindergarten through college. The mission is to implement an integrated programming approach that will prepare African American youth for the global workforce as healthy citizens.
Delivering and SustainingTransformational Programs
We will focus on five primary goals, with health and wellness being integrated throughout STY programming. The goals are to:
Continue to further operationalize closing the achievement gap from Pre-K through college, with the intent of preparing our youth for the global workforce as healthy citizens
Revise and modify Services to Youth programs to promote the integration of a health and wellness component focused on youth, families and communities
Delivering and SustainingTransformational Programs
Develop training modules for local pre-kindergarten through college mentoring programs, to ascertain a high level of support for youth in our communities
Expand and support Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education and promote the integration of the Arts (STEAM)
Promote and support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) for ensured sustainability
Enhanced Member Servicesand Engagement
Increase members’ understanding of Services to Youth programming by enhancing and updating the STY Toolkit on the website, so it is a useful resource to chapters and members. It will include best practices of transformational and integrated programs that chapters can learn about and replicate; examples of how chapters can sustain programs after grant funds are no longer available; checklists for starting national programs in their chapters (i.e. STEM,HBCU Community College Collaborative); and suggested strategies for chapters to integrate health and wellness into existing programming.
Enhanced Member Servicesand Engagement
Update STY brochure on the website for easy access by members and chapters
Conduct STY webinars, conference calls and present workshops at Area Conferences and the National Assembly to increase members’ knowledge of transformational and sustainable programming
Fund Development and FiscalResponsibilities
Review and assess existing partnerships while identifying new funding sources and partnerships whose mission aligns with ours to support STY programs
Organizational Assessmentand Alignment
Review and examine the relevance, alignment and performance of the seven existing Services to Youth programs and make recommendations for sustainability
Conduct STY webinars to assist chapters in the assessment, evaluation and documentation of their programmatic outcomes and impact
Leadership Development
Develop the STY component of the Program Training and Leadership Manual for chapter, area and STY leaders
Provide a STY toolkit, training modules, workshops and/or webinars for area and chapter STY leaders
Promoting Links Brand
Revise and modify STY programs so they are replicable models that promote health and wellness with youth, families and communities
Ensure that “Building A Healthy Legacy: Our Prescription for the Future” and the Links official logo appear on all STY documents and communications

The chapter has a clearly stated #1 Goal “To Deliver and Sustain Transformational Programming” as part of its strategic plan
The planning process and activities are in line with this #1 goal.

Points for Transformational Programming
Chapter program planning involves strategies for engaging all members in providing service to the target group/community.
Chapter has a proposed budget for implementing planned program(s), and a process for evaluating the success of the program.

Consider your programs’ effects on physical and mental heath and wellness. When possible:Invite medical professionals to share with your target audienceUtilize public medical facilities for programsAdd an element of fitness to your presentation
