INTRODUCTION
Solar power system is one of renewable energy system which uses PV modules to convert sunlight into electricity.
The electricity generated can be either stored or used directly.
Solar PV system is very reliable and clean source of electricity that can suit a wide range of applications such as residence , industry ,agriculture etc.
OBJECTIVE
THIS PROJECT PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE AREA’S WHERE THERE IS ABUNDANT SUNLIGHT AND LARGE RURAL POPULATION WITHOUT PROPER INFRASTRUCTURE.
MAIN COMPONENTS 1.SOLAR PANEL: converts sunlight into Dc
electricity. 2.INVERTER: converts DC to AC for
appliances. 3.BATTERY: stores energy for supplying to
electrical appliances when there is a demand. 4.LOAD (APPLIANCES): TV, LIGHTS etc. 5.CHARGE CONTROLLER.

“WE ARE CONSUMING A ONE 20 WATT BULB FOR 4 HRS A DAY”
1. POWER CONSUMPTION: Total Appliance used = 20 watt X 4hrs =80 wh/day. Total PV panel energy needed = 80 X 1.3 = 104 wh/day.

SIZE OF THE PV PANELTotal Wp (peak watt) PV capacity needed 104/2.93 = 35.49 Wp. No of PV Panel needed = 35.49 Wp/10 = 3.5 =4 module. (Panel Generation factor = 2.93)
INVERTER SIZE
Total watt of the appliances = 20 watt.
For safety inverter should be bigger 25-30%.
The inverter size should be about 25watt.
BATTERY SIZING
• Total appliance used = 20 X4 = 80 watt/day.• Nominal battery voltage = 12 volt.• Days of Autonomy = 3 days.• Battery loss= 0.85• Depth of discharge = 0.6 Battery Capacity (Ah)={(total watt-hrs per day used by
appliance) /(0.85 X 0.6 X nominal battery voltage)} X Days of aotonomy.
= {(20 X 4)/(0.85X0.6X12)} X 3 = 39.21 Ah.So battery should be rated 12 v 39.21 Ah for 3 days of autonomy.
