Europe’s most southerly ski runs

are in Spain’s Sierra Nevada Mountains,

high above the beautiful city of Granada.

In spite of the sunny Andalusian climate,

the area offers some spectacular runs,

and hosted the World Alpine Ski

Championships in 1996.

The Sierra Nevada is less than

half an hour’s drive from Granada

Airport and is also accessible from

Malaga and Almeria airports on the

coast. With 39 runs, plus six off-course

trails for a total of nearly 100km of great

ski runs, there’s plenty for experienced

and novice skiers and the resorts are

well-serviced by lifts.
