The TCI Cutting Smartline 3015 Fiber laser cutting system, equipped with a Precitec cutting head.
All construction sub-units, such as fiber laser resonators, CNC (Computer Numeric Control) controls,
program software, handling equipment, etc are supplied by world class quality manufacturers and/or are
made and developed by TCI Cutting. TCI Cutting assumes total and overall responsibility for the equipment.

/01.1 MACHINE MOUNTING
The TCI Cutting Smartline 3015 Fiber yterrbium doped machine can process sheet metal to a
maximum size of 3000 x 1500 mm. The solid machine mounting is metal with steel profiles. The material
is laid on a toothed steel grill with interchangeable supports.
Electrical cabinet contains:
• Electrical cables, main switch and power distributor.

/01.2 CUTTING GANTRY
• A gantry based axis directed onto the cutting flatbed (axis Y) by a set of sliders and a high
precision guide delivering a linear drive, thus ensuring high rigidity, minimal friction resistance
and a large loading capacity; this is driven by a rack and pinion /precision reducer rectifier
system, adjustable for no play, manufactured with special tempered steel for maximum output,
connected to a brushless alternating current motor.
• Transverse linear axis (axis X) with the same system as described above.
• 1 nozzle support head (axis Z) fitted with a vertical guide system (spindle).
• A constant distance is maintained between the nozzle and the material (for metals only) by
means of a contact-free sensor.
• Prior to cutting, the contact-free cutting head detects the exact position of the sheet. The
cutting plan is automatically reoriented to adapt to the position of the sheet.
• The consumption of cutting gas is minimized by the special design of the cutting head and the
optimization of the nozzles.

/01.3 FIBER LASER RESONATOR IPG
The fiber laser resonator is a separate unit unattached to the cutting machine; this facilitates the design of
laser cutters to deal with high speed cutting of thin materials and high quality cutting of thick materials. The unit
contains the high stability resonator, kinetically suspended. The laser resonator includes a communication system
featuring the control unit and a closed cooling circuit.
In accordance with our company ethos to design the most flexible and reliable machines on the market, the
TCI Cutting Smartline 3015 Fiber machine includes an integrated fiber laser source. This new laser machine features
an effective and reliable start-up, handling and monitoring with simple maintenance, together with numerous special
functions offering the user a wide variety of specialist information about laser applications.

/01.6 OPERATOR SAFETY IN CUTTING AREA
In accordance with 2006/42/EC machinery guidelines, the safety regulations are fully satisfied by
means of an adjustable safety door located beside the user and solid barriers at the sides to the rear of the
machine. The user is therefore protected during ‘automatic mode’ from the moving pieces in the machine,
from the laser beam, from the laser beam reflection effects and from metal splash.
During normal cutting operations, the door remains closed. When the door is open, the cutting
activity is blocked. The cutting settings remain in position in the machine but with reduced power and the
gear control is disconnected. For maintenance purposes, the system can be set in special mode.
The TCI Cutting fiber laser systems are ranked as CLASS I machines. The machine has all the
necessary features guaranteeing full safety when used for the purposes for which they have been designed
and in accordance with current operating norms:
• The machine is equipped with a protection system.
• The observation windows are approved for solid state laser use.
• The source is equipped with advanced beam reflection control systems, ensuring functional
integrity and security.
• The 100μm diameter processing fiber emits a very fine and very low risk focus beam.
/01.7 OPERATOR SAFETY IN CUTTING AREA
The table and feed exchanger systems are interrupted when the operator is located inside the area
protected by the infrared light barrier. Once he has left the danger zone, the user should then cancel the
interruption signal. The relevant switch is therefore only accessible to the operator when he is located
outside the danger zone.
The safety system consists of an emitter, a receptor and the requisite number of mirrors to enclose
the loading and unloading zone (configuration according to the equipment layout).

/01.9 COMMUNICATION SYSTEM TCI ONLINE
SMARTTOUCH V6.0 It is linked with a remote control
system, so that the machine can be tested, reprogrammed and
assisted from the technical department of TCI Cutting in our
central offices.
The remote control system and the device for monitoring
the breakdowns of the machine make it possible to attend
possible machine stops that may occur during the first months of
commissioning and later in the maintenance service. Very useful
to avoid production stops and technical assistance expenses.
/01.10 AUTOMATIC SHUTTLE TABLE SYSTEMShuttle table system contains:
• An automatic hydraulic and electric table operator, Fanuc servo with loading and unloading.

/01.11 FUMES EXTRACTION SYSTEM
The fumes extraction or aspiration system for the treatment of vapors and fumes derived from laser
cutting, consisting of:
• Filter plates with automatic compressed air cleaning cycle.
• Integrated silencer.
• Tubes to connect between the machine and the suction
system, according to the design plan.
• Pre-coating device for protection of filter elements.
This system is used to filter dry dust from industrial leaks, in
accordance with VDI guidelines 3677, paragraph 4. The filter elements
use compact porous filters.
In many countries it is forbidden to circulate filtered air during
the cutting of stainless steel (CrNi). Therefore, it is recommended that
the user install air ducts to the outside.
/01.12 REFRIGERATION SYSTEM:LASER / RESONATOR AND REFRIGERATOR SOURCE KIT
The IPG refrigeration system is an intelligent refrigeration unit, with diagnosis, communication and
complete integration with the laser source.
Physically the refrigerator is presented together with the resonator, in a cabinet kit, with a compact
and ergonomic design, to protect them from any external damage.

TCI SMARTTOUCH V6.0 software provides the user with a friendly graphical interface to interact
with the numerical control that controls the cutting machines. It is a multi-language and multi-user
machine control software for simple and powerful machine management.
It offers all the potential of machine handling: regulation of machine parameters to optimize the
final quality, control of the extraction system, control of the regulation in height, etc.
It also allows you to view the cutting program at all times, move, add and remove parts, perform
cut simulations, know yields and the most important, direct machine communication to our SAT (Customer
Service).
It has a complete list of selectable materials that facilitates the cutting process: simply select
material, thickness and the characteristics of the high pressure to start carrying out the cutting operations.
If new materials are used, they can be created directly for future use.

/01.19 TCI FLY CUTTING 3.0
• Synchronization between the CNC interpolator and the laser source for precise control of the
laser on / off.
• CAD-CAM programming of ultra fast cutting pieces Fly Cut for optimization of grid cuts and
consecutive drills (recommended up to 1.5mm thick).
If it takes a long time to cut samples of holes in thin sheet metal, then the solution is in the TCI Fly
Cutting: because, with this strategy, it will machine faster sheet metal plates up to 1.5 mm thick.
The more contours a piece has, the more time it will save.
The most important machining features of Fly Cutting are:
• Connection and disconnection without interruptions and in the exact position of the laser
beam, without stopping or braking the axes.

TCI Fast piercing, what it allows is the development of the own strategy of floating piercing in two
ultra fast steps, for medium and thick thickness steels.
TCI Fast piercing, improves and shortens the piercing step in the material to the contour cut, and
the following advantages are obtained:
• Higher speed Depending on the type and thickness of the material, as well as the number of
contours to be machined, you can increase your productivity up to 100% especially in the case
of fine stainless steel.
• Better quality Thanks to the reduced laser power that is applied for penetration, the ejection
of material is reduced upwards. You will find much less chips on the top face of your sheet
metal parts.
TCI Fast Piercing , not only controls the penetration process, also regulates it according to the
following principle: as much laser power as possible, in the shortest time necessary.
Thanks to TCI Fast Piercing, the average laser power always remains slightly below the threshold,
from which the material would burn uncontrollably. The result is more precise penetration holes with less
waste material.

/03 INSTALLATION AND START-UP

Personnel training will be carried out by a professional TCI Cutting technician over a period of 3
working days at the TCI Cutting workshops and over a period of 5 working days at the client’s premises
once the machine has been installed there. The training programmer is designed for: technicians and
machine operators.
From the installation period up to the completion of the operators’ training, the system will be
available for use by TCI Cutting personnel. Production will commence following the completion of these
activities.
Installation of the system (in accordance with the signed layout agreement) and start-up of
the machine will be carried out by TCI Cutting personnel. The price will include all travel expenses,
accommodation and subsistence costs of the service technicians.
For the purposes of training and familiarization with the system it is recommended that the client’s
machine operators and maintenance personnel are present during the installation period.
The client is responsible for:
• Unloading of the machine at his premises.
• Preparation of the installation site in accordance with the design plan.
• Provision of the requisite cranes and lifting equipment for unloading, installation and
maintenance.
• Supply of electrical energy, including frequency, voltage, tolerance and fuses as specified in
the ‘Technical Data’.
• Supply of containers of laser and cutting gases as specified in the ‘Technical Data’. If using
an external gas supply, high quality (clean) copper or stainless steel pipes/tubing with the
appropriate dimensions must be installed in the cabinets and the machines.
• Supply of dry compressed air, oil-free and dust-free, as specified in the ‘Technical Data’.
Provision of an appropriate installation area: solid industrial floor, as vibration-free as possible.

The client is responsible for providing the required material (in the required quality and quantity) for
cutting during the testing session.
The initial reception procedure comprises:

/06.1 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
The machine is fitted with all the necessary devices to guarantee total user safety in accordance with
current regulations:
• The machine has a fully equipped protection system.
• The safe and enclosed work area surrounding the machine complies with all the safety measures
as laid down in the CE/CDRH directives.
• The observation windows are approved for solid state laser use.
• The laser source is equipped with advanced control systems for the beam reflectors ensuring
functioning safety and integrity.
• The 100μm diameter (according to application) processor fiber emits a very fine and very low-risk
focus beam.
• The use of safety glasses is recommended (1068-1080nm) when working with fiber laser cutting
systems; these glasses can be obtained from the TCI Cutting Consumables and Spare Parts
department.
• Preventive maintenance work should be carried out by qualified personnel. TCI Cutting will not
accept responsibility for any damage caused by non-compliance with these instructions.
• The equipment supplied by TCI Cutting should only be used for the applications for which it has
been specifically designed and as indicated during training. Improper use will exempt TCI Cutting
from all responsibility.
/06.2 ENVIRONMENT CONDITION
• The temperature range at the workplace must be between 15-35 degrees C. The system
components must not be exposed to direct sunlight.
• In the case of tropical climatic conditions or if the temperature of the workplace rises above 35
degrees C, it is recommended that the equipment should be housed within an air-conditioned
space/room.
• The Dew Point conditioning of the ambient air should be less than 10 degrees C in order to prevent
condensation in the refrigerated parts of the machine.
• It is recommended that the machine should be installed on a vibration-free floor.
• Vapors resulting from paint or solvent injection can be absorbed by the laser beam and can
adversely affect the functioning of the system. For this reason, contact with the laser beam by
such vapors may constitute a high risk of explosion.
• The ‘Technical Data’ should always be complied with.

In order to guarantee the effective and economic functioning of the system the correct maintenance
procedures must be carried out by the user.
The Manual sets out the essential processes and stages for preventive maintenance of the laser cutter
together with its various components and peripherals.
The Manual also contains a table showing the tasks and time periods for regular preventive maintenance.
It is the user’s responsibility to carry out these tasks and to record them in the ‘machine log’. The component
guarantee will be considered invalid should any of the maintenance procedures fail to be complied with.

The installation of the electrical supply of the machine must be carried out by an authorized installer complying with the national, regional or local regulations in force. The operating voltage and the maximum admissible current must comply with the requirements of the

Contractual Conditions:
• The Machine Manual Log must be completed correctly and in its entirety.
• Use of original TCI Cutting S.L. spare parts and consumables.
