TRANSPORTATION - CARS Driving – Don’t! Taxis – Can hail yellow cabs from the
street.From the sidewalk, raise hand to hail. Cabsense app will tell you where is best to
pick up a cab.$2.50 to begin, plus $0.50 per 1/5 mile or 1
minute in traffic. 10-20% tip is customary.Do not hail non-yellow cabs in the street.

TRANSPORTATION - BICYCLE Always wear a helmet. Do not ride on the sidewalk. Use lights at night. Register your bike at the local police precinct. Be sure to ride defensively.
Traffic in New York can be difficult for cyclists. Be sure to lock up your bicycle (two locks is
better!) NYU has a bike-share program. There is also
citibike. NYU bicycle parking behind Tisch Hall, 40 W.
4th Street.

TRANSPORTATION-SUBWAY Before you swipe, check to make sure
you have the correct direction (uptown/downtown). At some stations you cannot transfer between directions.
Free subway maps are available at subway stations. Ask at any manned booth.
Move into the car and stay out of the way when people are getting in and out.

TRANSPORTAION - BUS Free transfer bus to subway, bus to bus,
and subway to bus within two hours using pay-per-ride Metrocard.
Buses can move slowly in Manhattan traffic.
When you want to get off, push the stop button or strip to alert the driver.
NYU has buses around Greenwich Village

You are considered adults You should begin to model the skills of leadership that
are important for MSc graduates If you do not understand something, you should ask
Ask in class, especially if it is something you think others may have trouble with
Ask after class if it is individual If you cannot make a class, you should ask a
classmate or the professor for help to keep up on the work
If you cannot make the class when it is an important date (your presentation, exam, etc.) notify the professor.
If you have trouble, ask for help earlier, rather than later.
