FOREWORD
Dear Competitor
The 2012 Sligo Stages Rally, supported by the Sligo Park Hotel and Quinn
Crash Repairs & Recovery, will take place on Saturday the 7th July and
details of the schedule are included in these regulations. The event is again a
counting round of the Sligo Pallets Border Rally Championship and I have
reintroduced the Junior and Historic classes this year. I welcome all
competitors submitting an entry to compete on the stages in County Sligo.
The rally comprises of nine stages with a variety of fast flowing and tight
twisty sections, on both wide and narrow roads with a good tarmac surface.
The event offers approx 145km of stages with a central service area.
The entry list will be published on the Connacht Motor Club web-site
(www.connachtmotorclub.com) and will be updated on a regular basis,
please use this facility in order to establish your position on the list. I would
also request that should you wish to withdraw your entry, you do so as
‘early’ as possible, and in the correct manner, i.e. by contacting the event
secretary directly – failure to do this may lead to a percentage, or the entire
entry fee, being withheld. In order to facilitate the rally office staff, I would
ask that you please complete mechanical and documentation scrutiny as
early as possible on Friday evening the 6th July 2012.
The co-operation of the residents along the route is a pre-requisite for the
running of this event. I would therefore ask you to respect that co-operation
and in particular I would ask you to drive carefully and to respect other road
users during the recce period.
Only with your co-operation can the image of motorsport in general and the
reputation of the Connacht Motor Club be maintained and improved, please
play your part in helping to preserve our sport, and the privilege afforded to
us in this country whereby we are permitted to close public roads for the
purpose of rallying.
Finally, should you submit an entry, thank you, I look forward to seeing you
for a safe and enjoyable rally weekend on the 7th July.
Yours in Motorsport,
