Thank youto all of youwho have agreed to receivemy weekly newsletter. Quite a few people signed upthis week. Staying connected and partnering withthecommunity isvery important to all of usat CentralStation.
Central StationOfficershave beenworking to addresscrime and have made some great arrests. We havebeenplanning for boththe NorthBeachFestivalscheduled for thisweekend and the Pride Parade on
June 26th.
Thiswill be the first year for usat Central Stationproviding police coverage for the Pride Parade. Ourdistrict boundarieschanged last July and we missed theparade by lessthana month. We are nowresponsiblefor MarketStreet fromthe Ferry Building to 3rd Street.However, we will handle the entire lengthof theparade.
Thisweekend I look forward to seeing many peoplefromthe community at our annual NorthBeachFair. I,
along witha group of officers, will be covering the fairfor two days. Asa reminder, other than the designatedbeer gardens, thisisanalcohol free event. We aregoing to work to ensure that it isanother safe event thisyear.
GreatArrests
Yesterday, Officers VanKoll andAndersonarrested anindividual who we be-lieve wasresponsible for 4 auto thefts. The suspect would pose asa valet at a ho-tel onGeary Street and whenthe victimprovidesthe suspect withthe car, the sus-pect would just drive off.
OfficersHarris andNestorfromTenderloinStationassisted usthis week whentheyarrested a personwho was responsible for several theftsand robberiesat retailstoresdowntown. Based ona thoroughinvestigationfromCentrals InvestigationsTeam, we put the suspectsphoto ina bulletin. OfficersHarrisand Nestor knew whothe suspect was, drove to a particular locationwhere they believed he would beand took himinto custody. Great work!
Speaking of retail theft, our StationInvestigationsTeam, led by LieutenantValerieMatthews, arrested a prolific thief fromUnionSquare, responsible for severalthousand dollars worthof merchandise fromthe retail area. Excellent work!

OnMay 23rd, OfficerMilliganwasmade aware of a burglary/ carjacking witha gunincident onthe 900block of UnionStreet inthe middle of the day. OfficerMilliganmade other officersaware and PlainclothesOfficers HuangandReyes saw the car and called intheir observation. OfficersfromNorthernStationpursued the vehicle whichended up inthe BayviewDistrict. Three of the four suspectswere takenintocustody!
OnMay 27th, OfficerMcFall wasworking alone and conducted a traffic stop at Geary and Jonesresultinginthe seizure of a firearm.
OnMay 30th, OfficersChengandGuerreroresponded to a personwitha guncall at Market and Kearny at1:00 a.m. Uponarrival, they detained numerousjuveniles, including one who was in possessionof a .22caliber handgun.
OnJune 1st, OfficersBusalacchi andMontague, assisted by Officers GrazianoandWilliams, arrested anindividual for burglary onthe unit block of 1st Street.
OnJune 5th, OfficersLowe, Ferraresi, UnserandKerriganarrested anindividual for pushing a 69 year old
male into SanFrancisco Bay. Fortunately, the victimsurvived.Quite oftenwe hear about mail and package theftsinthe community. On June 7th, Officers Tano andMcauliffearrested anindividual for stealing a package onthe 2100 block of Vallejo Street.
Thisisjust a sample of the great arrestshappening every day inthe Central District!
BarricadedSuspect
I would like to thank all of the officerswho responded to the 900 block of Pacificlast Friday regarding thearmed and barricaded suspect. I amalso grateful for the community who were inconvenienced by the streetclosuresand restricted accessto their residences. The officersdid an outstanding job ensuring the public wassafe. Inthe end, 6 officersreceived minor injuries. The suspect isincustody and the District AttorneysOffice
has charged the suspect withnumerouscriminal offenses.
TrafficEnforcement
The Traffic Company assisted usthe other day conducing traffic enforcement along the Broadway CorridorfromPowell to Battery Street. This was a morning commute operation. Asa result, 9 driverswere cited fortexting while driving, 2 for speeding, and 5 for failing to yield to a pedestrianinthe crosswalk!
Last Friday, around 7:30 a.m., I wastraveling downMarketStreet onduty, inanunmarked police car. Inoticed bicycleswere running red light after red light. My attentionwas focused onone individual who ranared light at Market and 4th Streetswhere a car onthe greenlight had to come to anabrupt stop. Finallyafter several red lights, the bicyclist rantheir final light at Market and Grant and tooka left turn, rode on
the sidewalk and thenwalked their bicycle. I pulled up, parked my car, approached thisperson, asked fortheir identificationand issued a citation. Inthe nicest way possible, I explained, Better a future reflectiononreceiving thiscitationand stopping next time thenby being hit by a car.Citationsare good educationaltoolsas well.

men and women who police our neighborhood.
This month, we interviewed Of f icer Jared Lovrin,
a 2 -year member of Central Police Stat ion.
Officer Jared LovrinwasborninSanFrancisco and raised inthe Bay Area. He attended
college inUtahat BrighamYoung University, where he obtained a degree inMechanical
Engineer.
Officer Lovrinjoined the SanFrancisco Police Academy in2005, following inhisUncles
footsteps. After graduating fromthe Police Academy, he wasassigned to Ingleside Station
for field training. After completing field training, he wasassigned to Central Stationfor his
probationstation. Officer Lovrinwas thenassigned to MissionStationfor his permanent
station. Officer Lovrinworked at MissionStationfor sevenyearswhere he worked Plain-
clothesand Vice. In2014, Officer LovrinsUncle TomLovrinretired fromthe Department.
Tompassed onhisstar #to Officer Lovrin. Officer Lovrinnow proudly wearsstar #2235,
carrying onhis Uncleslegacy.
InJanuary of 2015, Officer Lovrintookhistransfer and returned to Central Station, the
stationthat he lovesmost. Officer Lovrinwasexcited to returnto Central Station; he fell in
love withthe district whenhe worked here onprobation. Officer Lovrinwaited sevenyears
to returnto Central Station.
Officer Lovrinworksina sector car. Officer Lovrincanbe seenpatrolling the NorthBeach,TelegraphHill, Pier 39 and Embarcadero area.
