ChinesethroughplayReceptionhavelearntcoloursthroughplay:usingthemagicbagtoassessunderstandingandthroughLego.Wesplittheclassandbuiltanobjectusingeachcolourandpupilinturn.WehavealsousedPlay-dohtobuildobjectsandhavewrittenChinesecharactersinthesandpit.

Chinesethroughdrama,mimeanddanceWeactouttheChinesezodiacanimalstory,usingabluefabricriverandall12softtoys(Beaniebabiesworkwell).OnepupilistheJadeemperorwithacrownandhelpstheteachernarratethestorybyputtingitintothefirstperson.Miminghelpsrememberwords,forexample,actingout狗(wagtail),兔子(bunnyears).ThroughConfuciusClassroomfunding,wehireaprofessionaldanceratNewYeartodoaprogrammeforeachprimaryclass,aimedattheirlevelwithlion,fanandparasoldancing.

ChinesethroughAppsPlickersisgreatwayofassessingthepupilsforvocabulary.TheydrawthepictureontheirindividualcardandthenholduptherightpicturetothetopwhentheteachersaystheChineseword.Kahootworkswellandisverypopularwithalllevelsofpupilsandreceptionpupilswereabletopickouttherightcharacterbasedonthestorytellingwhichwedidforeachcharacter.
