FATHER’S DAY 2015
Of God's many names in the Bible, there is none
so great as FATHER.
So if you sinful people know how to give good
gifts to your children,
how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask Him.
(Matthew 7:11 – New Living Translation)
WHY WE HAVE A FATHER WHO
LOVES US
Meet Stephanie Fast
KEY WORD: ADOPTED
We were chosen by the Father
If the Spirit of God is leading you, then take comfort in
knowing you are His children.
You see, you have not received a spirit that returns you to slavery, so you have
nothing to fear.
The Spirit you have received adopts you and welcomes you into God’s own family. That’s why we call out to
Him, “Abba! Father!”
as we would address a loving daddy. Through that
prayer, God’s Spirit confirms in our spirits that we are His
children.(Romans 8:14-16 – The
Voice)
God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family
by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.
This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. (Ephesians 1:5 – New
Living Translation)
God sent him to buy freedom for us who were
slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. And because
we are his children,
God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts,
prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but God’s
own child.
And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.
(Galatians 4:5-7 – New Living Translation)
KEY WORD: RELATED
We are childrenof the Father
He gave the right and the power to become children of God to those who received
Him.
He gave this to those who put their trust in His name.
(John 1:12 – New Life Version)
Consider the kind of extravagant love the Father
has lavished on us — He calls us
children of God!
It’s true; we are His beloved children.
(1 John 3:1 – Voice)
Now you are no longer strangers to God and
foreigners to heaven, but you are members of God’s
very own family . . .
and you belong in God’s household with every
other Christian. (Ephesians 2:19 – Living
Bible)
KEY WORD: ACCEPTED
We are cherishedby the Father
So he returned home to his father. And while he was still
a long distance away, his father saw him coming,
and was filled with loving pity and ran and embraced
him and kissed him. “His son said to him,
‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and you,
and am not worthy of being called your son —’ “But his father said to the slaves,
‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on
him.
And a jeweled ring for his finger; and shoes! And kill
the calf we have in the fattening pen. We must celebrate with a feast,
for this son of mine was dead and has returned to
life. He was lost and is found.’
So the party began. (Luke 15:20-24 – Living
Bible)
See how much the Father has loved us! His love is so
great that we are called God's children—and so, in
fact, we are . . .
My dear friends, we are now God's children.
