Senior Presentations are a capstone project that every senior completes at Mill Springs Academy as a part of their Senior Research & Composition class. In the Fall, students choose a topic of interest, a passion project, issue of social import, or one of investigatory significance to examine, define, research, and then compose a research paper. In the spring, they take their fall research and break it down into components to illuminate and present. The best presentation receives the “Gail J. Kreher Award” for excellence, and is this year judged by our Communications Director Chari Harwood and Librarian Brittany Emge. In addition, Senior Presentations are indeed a big deal in that students begin the year as high school
learners, but evolve into young adults ready to tackle the world and beyond! Speeches can range from eight to twen-ty-five minutes, with each student working at their skill level, meeting hard deadlines to work with our Technology department and other professionals, as well as developing organization and planning skills. We are proud of the hard work these seniors have invested in their education and futures. Please see the topics and times to join us!
KEY FACTS: You may attend a portion of the Presentations in the indicated time blocks or the day’s event in its en-tirety. We just ask that movement be limited during a “live” presenta-tion, with audience members re-maining in their seats and moving only during an in-between transition time. Students may leave early with par-ents, however ONLY with specific permission. We support one anoth-er at MSA!
There will be a luncheon on each of the presentation days for the Sen-iors at an indicated time after the 10:30am time block has concluded. STUDENTS: If speakers run over the indicated time block, remain seated and we will resume break after the time block is concluded. Plan on attending all presenta-tions and coordinate with teach-ers for regular classes accord-ingly.
