Area: the number of square units to cover a region (Done)
Volume: the amount of space an object occupies. It is measured in cubic units.
Mathematically:
Volume=(area of the base)(height) = Ah
*** Don't forget, volume is measured in cubic units!

1. Volume of a Right Rectangular Prism and Right Pyramid
Predict how many full pyramids are needed to fill the prism. Note the prisms and pyramids have the same length, width, and height.
If a prism and a pyramid have the same length, width and height, then the volume of the pyramid is 1/3 the volume of the prism.
Volume of a Pyramid = 1/3 Volume of the PrismOr
Volume of a Prism = 3 Volume or a Pyramid
Prism Pyramid
Volume = Area of Base x Height
V = lwh

2. Volume of a Right Rectangular Cylinder and a Right Rectangular Cone
Predict how many full cones are needed to fill the cylinder. Note the cone and cylinder have the same radius and height.
If a cone and a cylinder have the same radius and height, then the volume of the cone is 1/3 the volume of the cylinder.
Cylinder Cone
Volume = Area of Base x Height
