Second ChanceIs A Human Right
History The foundations of sisters4islam began in 2009
and was the brainchild of Jamila Jones a Jamaican revert who was looking to embrace the different religious communities in Leicester (Asian, Somali, Swahili, Arab, African, Caribbean communities but were found in segregated clusters).
The vision was to create an Islamic based umbrella sisterhood fostering learning and communication that could embrace and support women from all these groups regardless of culture, background and faith.
o Building on the cohesion ethos Jamila was approached by women from various ethnic backgrounds and in 2012 Fatihiya (Uganda), Khadija (Malawi), Fatma and Firdaus (Kenya), Shukri, Shadiya and Saamiya (Somalia), Ayesha (India) and Amina (Guyana) lay the foundation of what was to become one of the most supportive women groups in Leicester.
o The name Second Chance describes its purpose, which was to give everyone in the community a second chance in life.

Excellence of Generosity and Spending in a Good cause with Reliance on Allah" Lend unto God a goodly loan. Whatever good you shall forward on your behalf you shall find it with God, as better and richer in reward. [al-Muzzammil 73: 20.]
"And whatever you spend in good, it is for yourselves, when you spend not except seeking Allah's Countenance. And whatever you spend in good, it will be repaid to you in full, and you shall not be wronged.'' ( Baqrah 2:272)
