APPLYING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS Stan State administers
approximately 150 scholarships to incoming and continuing students, undergraduate and graduate students.
Eligibility for scholarships can be based on a variety of criteria such as academic merit, financial need, college major as well as community service.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR STAN STATE SCHOLARSHIPS Applicant must be a fully
matriculated student and have a declared major (except for entering freshmen).
Full-time enrollment is required of all scholarships except unless otherwise noted in individual scholarship criteria
o Minimum 12 units for undergraduates and teacher credential students
o Minimum 8 units classified graduates in a graduate program
Minimum GPA of 3.00 is required unless otherwise noted within individual scholarship criteria.
APPLICATION PROCESS Stan State uses an electronic
scholarship application to help students search and apply for scholarships with one application.
The Stan State online scholarship system automatically filters the correct scholarships to students who meet the basic criteria of the individual award. Students can then review the information for each scholarship and submit their application for each scholarship.
The Stan State online scholarship application can be accessed at: https://csustan.academicworks.com
Detailed information on how to use the online scholarship application can be found at: https://www.csustan.edu/financial-aid-scholarships/scholarship-information
Completing the online scholarship application process: In addition to the online application,
applicants may need to turn in additional documentation as follows:
Letters of Recommendation Must be submitted if required by
the individual scholarship you are applying for.
Letters from teachers/faculty members need to be from the school you are currently attending or last attended.
Recommendation letters, if required, must be requested electronically by submitting the recommenders name and email address through the online scholarship application system.
SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS Scholarship recipients are required
to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in their course of study.
Please visit the SAP web page for the policy at:
https://www.csustan.edu/financial-aid-scholarships/satisfactory-academic-progress-sap
For need-based scholarships: For scholarships listing financial
need as a part of the criteria, students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Dream Act application for 2019-2020 by the priority deadline of March 2, 2019 in order to be considered for that scholarship.
Ineligibility for Federal and/or State aid does not necessarily disqualify applicants for non-need-based scholarships.
After you complete the online application After the deadline date of March 2,
2019, we will begin the review process for all Stan State scholarships. We will begin sending e-mail award notifications to students in June and will continue through the summer and into the fall semester.
You may log back into your Stan State online application to check the status of your scholarship applications. Award notifications will be sent to your MyCSUStan email address.
If you have any questions If you should have any questions
regarding any part of the scholarship process or need assistance logging into the Stan State online scholarship system, please contact our Scholarship Coordinator at (209) 667-3336 or by e-mail at:[email protected]
