As the Kingdom’s economy steadily kept on growing into the impressive, unstoppable powerhouse that it is today, the establishment of Saudi Business Machines Ltd. (SBM) in 1981 was a natural, inevitable next step, later becoming the General Marketing and Services Representative (GMSR) of IBM World Trade Corporation in Saudi Arabia.
70 years later and SBM are IBM’s leading technology provider in the Kingdom. Together, we have forged a business relationship that laid the foundations of the nation’s IT infrastructure.
We are proud to have made several historic achievements in the Kingdom: In the 1990’s, we restored government IT systems during the Gulf War and implemented a vast ATM network for 45 oil facilities across the country. More recently in the 21st century, we installed the nation’s first Blue Gene supercomputer at King Abdullah University and drove the digital transformation of important branches of Saudi government including the Ministry of Justice.
Today, SBM offers cutting-edge enterprise solutions across every industry in the Kingdom, with its capability as a total solutions provider further enhanced with an unrivaled portfolio of products and services in IBM Systems and Software, Networking Solutions, Systems Integration, Consultation and Implementation, Business Recovery, and Operations Support.

We are now IBM’s key business partner in the Middle East and the nation’s leading technology provider, helping the world’s biggest oil producer transition from a resource based economy to a knowledge based superpower.

Our story in the Kingdom began in 1947, when a small team of technicians from IBM stepped off a plane in Dhahran. When this group of IBM specialists installed the first information-handling system for the Arabian American Oil Company, or, more simply, ARAMCO – little did they know then they were about to lay the foundations of the region’s biggest IT business.

SBM has over 120 experienced SAP consultants. More than 30% of resources are Saudi Nationals, while more than 70% of resources are bilingual, including S4 HANA certified resources. Our resources cover complete portfolio of SAP implementation modules, allowing expertise to deliver SAP solution across the enterprise value chain.
SAP team at SBM is defined in multiple layers. We have a core team of “Leads” & knows as A team. Under each lead then there are respective module consultants.

SBM is SAP gold partner in region. Along with SAP certified for S4 HANA sell authorization, SBM is SAP Partner Center of Excellence (PCoE) certified, which ensures that we follow SAP defined SAP support standards to be offered to our customers.
SBM SAP PCoE setupSAP PCoE setup requires SAP defined support delivery setup. This includes in-house system infrastructure setup and respective support delivery team. The setup goes through SAP audit every year for verification if SAP defined standards are being followed.
SBM team are giving the full support in most Saudi provinces (Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam and Khobar). A specialized team are there to support customers.
