Step 1:

Step 1: Create and Configure Tenant
Contact SAP Cloud Managed Services team to setup a HCI-DS tenant.
They will:
Create an organization
Create the initial user for the organization and send an activation email. This user will act as the administrator for the organization.
Create any needed connections from HCI to target SAP cloud applications (such as S&OP)
Once you receive the activation email:
Confirm activation e-mail and log on to new organization
Create any other users that are needed (see Unit 3 in this learning map for more information)

Supported Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows Server 2008, SuSE SLES 10 & 11
Supported source systems: SAP ERP, SAP SCM (APO)
Supported cloud systems: SAP Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), SuccessFactors SF API for BizX
Supported databases: Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB/2, Oracle, MySQL
Supported files: Delimited text files such as CSV
Download the Agent and run setup

Step 2b: Register the Agent
Register the Agent in the web interface
Logon to HCI-DS as an administrator
Navigate to the Agents tab
Click New agent
Specify the name, location, description and click next. Note: location choices are
created for you by the SAP Cloud Managed
Services team in Step 1.
Download the config file and click Save. You will need the config file for the next
step. You can also download the config file
later by going to Agents tab and choosing
download from the action menu.

Step 2c: Establish Secure Agent Connection
From the Agent Server
Run configureAgent.bat (.sh on Linux). This file is located wherever you installed the
Agent in Step 2a.
Click Upload Certificates
Fill out the dialog box shown on the right and click Upload. The Agent Config File is located where you downloaded it in Step
2b.
You need to provide an HCI-DS user with Administrator privilege.
If the connection is created successfully, the status icon will be green on the Agents
tab in the HCI-DS interface.

Step 3: Prepare Connectivity to Source Data
This is an overview of connecting to SAP source data. For more information, see Overview of SAP Data Source Preparation in Unit 2 of this Learning Map.
The Data Services agent requires some ABAP functions to get metadata and extract data.
They are in the /BODS/ namespace so there are no conflicts with other functions
They are the same as for on-premise Data Services
They are protected through authorization objects

Step 4: Move Data From On-Premise to Cloud
This is only an overview of the on-premise
to cloud ETL process. For more detailed
instructions, see Units 4-6 in this learning
map.
Login to HCI. Licensed/production customers. Demo customers.
Create datastores to on-premise systems.
Create tasks. Use templates for sample content, or create your own tasks from scratch.
Run tasks in sandbox to test, refine, and validate results.
Promote tasks from sandbox to production when ready.
