HistorySan Sebastian is a coastal city and it’s located in the Basque Autonomous Community.
It’s just 20 km from the French border.
Around 1180The city was founded by Sancho the Wise, King of Navarre and so it became the maritime port of Navarre, only until the year 1200, when the city was conquered by Castile, whose king Alfonso VIII, preserved,
however, certain rights that the city already had. They even have a special language, Basque, the ancestral origins.
Festivals San Sebastian International Film Festival:
One of the reasons why San Sebastian is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Spain is this festival, celebrated annually in September. The event is well-known all around the world and it has been held for more than 60 years attracting film fans from everywhere.

San Sebastian Day:
Every year on 20th January , the people of San Sebastian celebrate a festival known as the
"Tamborrada". For 24 hours, all the city is awash with the sound of drums.
The adults, dressed as cooks and soldiers, march around the city. They march all night with their cook hats and white aprons with the March of
San Sebastian.
GastronomySan Sebastian is the city with the most Michelin stars per square. The city features tasty snacks similar to tapas called pintxos, which may be found at the bars of the Barrio Viejo.
